WOW Great Gulf of Oman Tip!!!

I saw this just this afternoon, it was one of the most unique but very effective strategies ive seen so far. I was MEC on Gulf of Oman and there were a bunch of guys waiting for a plane to spawn. This F-35 flys over and uses the guns to kill us all, then the pilot flips, turns around and does it again, he takes out the spawned planes in 5 seconds. he had like 30 points in 2 minutes.

People complain about "spawn camping" but I really do not find a problem with this, I personally hate nothing more than people camping for planes for two reasons: 1. They need to be more well round and help the team with their skills in more areas than with piloting. and 2. You are wasting valuable slots in the so saught after ranked servers, you are being a wall flower and you may not be that great of a asset in the air.

This tactic could give your team a very needed advantage over the US this might give you just enough time to cap the valuable coastal flags that are needed for the MEC team to be victorius in the end.

Spawn camping can be extremely helpful for your team. Putting a squad on a USMC carrier can be the determining factor on wether or not you win, if the squad is good and keeps the boat, jets and copters from leaving the carrier. You don't have to get them all to be effective, just enough.

And there are some damn good pilots out there. I envy them. My flying consists of me attempting to keep my magnet plane from hitting every metal object on the map.

I would often just use my machine gun on the jets to take out people...one time i simply blind fired at a busy enemy flag in Oman and i nailed about 5 or 6 kills :D

Not true. YOu can see ppl very far away if ya got a lot of ram, and your field of view (look in settings) is 90% or higher.

I get so sick of hordes of campers waiting around for a plane/chopper while an enemy spec op destroys all the command assests not 50m from where they are standing.!!

Usually its only when the spec op steals a buggy and makes road pizza out of them that they think about acting (and yea i do the spec of inflitrate bit myself and looove those lazy sods when they aren't on my side)

Yeah, pretty much there were 7 people on our MEC team camping the planes and choppers on Gulf of Oman...boy was that annoying. They weren't the skill pilots either, so it was pretty much a waste to wait around because they would just respawn after running into a tree to grab the chopper again.

I bet when you're fighting on the ground (i making a broad assumption that you actually DO fight on the ground, and don't just camp the helo) and you sneak up behind someone, you shoot all around them so that they know where you are, making it a fair fight, right? Cannon fodder I say, they are the best arty target ever and you don't even get TK punished for destroying them... To be serious for a moment, it's dissappointing to notice that there just isn't good teamwork out there, just a server full of lone wolfs and a few John Rambo's among them. Happens on every ranked server, I guess.

lol, something like this happened just a while ago! my friends and i were waiting for a BH to re-spawn and all of a sudden, we heard two or three consecutive "boom!" sounds. turns out, an enemy somehow sneaks past us and starts blowing our assets. so what me and my friends did was run towards the guy planning to kill him. BUT, a helo suddenly appeared and we all stopped sprinting, looked at each other, and said "nah" and we all ran towards the helo instead!

had the helo NOT appeared, the guy would've been dead. ahh, so much for helping the team win...

i can take out a chopper with whatever i want, i just happen to find that planting c4 on a helo and watching it take off b4 i pull the trigger very satisfying.

I would say it takes skill to camp any enemy base because u have to constantly reposition yourself so that u dont get slaughtered by a horde of angry plane/helo whores

That's the lamest thing I've ever read. Get with the program. In a real war, it's a priority to stop the enemy's air assets from being able to be used. It's a perfectly legit tactic, and you probably just don't like it because with your wings clipped, you're reduced to being ineffectual cannon fodder, because all you know how to do is fly. :rolleyes:

If not, how could using the guns on jets to take out enemies be considered a great tip if it's been done countless of times from Battlefield 1942 up until now? It's nothing new.... hell, I used to do it back in the '42 days. It's easy, too, but I don't prefer jets or any type of aircraft for that matter.... they bore me.

Well after I am done crying that you just camped my airfield I will usually just go take all the other flags and win the game that way. Either way noob camping is not effective at all. It's a good stat whore method though.

Well, considering how effective strafing enemy aircraft on the ground can be at crippling them, we must therefore conclude that this tactic does not come under the umbrealla of "noob camping". It's not even a stat whore method a lot of the time as often kills will be made when there's no people in the aircraft. The main thing is that the aircraft are not there when the enemy needs to use them. It's up to the team getting creamed to deal with the offending aircraft to allow friendly aircraft off the ground.

That's where *gasp* teamwork comes in!

dam this would make a good game show lol it basicly comes down to who has the better cp and connection rate and the better joystick or whatever .theres nothing like laging in the middle of a fight. see the weapons suck a plane can drop bombs and kill the crap out of you while the ground weapons are like shooting bb guns and the artill is so deadly it does not matter if you hiding in a building or not and where are all the bunkers i guess that will come out in the next version no rain or bad weather at all and with all these weapons going off why arn't there more things that blow up this game had all the hype but it lacks so much no night time is really the biggest dissapointment and whats with the snipers they stand out like a sore thumb its a good game but it could of been alot better yea spawn kill its easy in this game because yo do not have enough weapons to keep people from doing it see ya

I personally like this tactic. My strategy is thus: Fly in from the hotel angle and strafe the stinger, then the planes, making double sure the stinger is taken out. I may or may not drop a bomb at this point. I turn around and take a straight shot at the planes. The mig is my #1 target simply because the Sukhoi can't compete with an F35. Once the planes are neutralized, I strafe those poor guys that are camping the planes. I generally leave the chopper and ground assets alone. I figure it's the nice thing not to rape them too bad :D

I love sitting in the USS Essex phalanx system n watching the jets come tearing over, dropping bombs on the blokes standing around doing nothing on the carrier deck. then having them spawn and get killed again.

One bloke saw i was in the phalanx tho, starting shooting his bloody at sh!t at me, what am i meant to do but kill him in return!?!?!? and of course i get punished..... sigh, 12 yr olds.

I do that all the time as well. I just spam machine gun fire near the planes and then bomb them when I get close enough.

I also spam machine gun fire on busy enemy spawns before I get close enough to bomb them. It gets alot of extra kills.

I agree with you to an extent. Most people in the servers suck a lot in the planes/choppers, simply because they are not easy to fly. They are the ones wasting slots because they cant help the team out, and are preventing the good pilots from flying. I'm not saying that crapy pilots should go to hell. I'm saying that they should practise offline first and get a good feel for it. And im not all talk and no walk. I have offered my piloting skills numerous times and I'm currently helping to forum members learn to fly offline. I extend this service to anyone that asks nicely.


As for this "sweep camping", people have to realize that its more fun actually playing the game its supposed to be played rather than using cheap tactics just so they can increase score. But hey, thats their waste of money.

Hey, I see nothing wrong with strafing plane campers with a jet... It's not spawn camping as your jet is constantly moving and is only over their spawn for a second or two... Spawn camping is parking a tank over there and raping everyone.. That's cheap and lame... Usually if I do something like this the plane campers get the hint, grab some armor, and head off to the flags...
