Is to go to a server with 64 people map and to camp somewhere shooting artil and UAV at opposition
I usually do this
Scan->UAV at any enermy's base-> artil where there are tons of enermies->sometimes supply at our teamate->Scan->ETC.
I suppose that is how i got my badge and ribbon
If any one else have useful tips about it pls reply me
Thank you for reading this

I don't see how that directly affected your score thereby getting you the badge.
I think you just happened to have a lot of score-whores on your team ;)

i think you've got the game all wrong, the idea of the game is to work as a team, and the commander is the team leader, so he should be helping his team mates to do their jobs, capture the flags, and so in turn gets points for it.
That is how i have got my badge.

i got my staff officer ribbon on kubra dam which is 50 points basically i jus decided to do what a commander should do and i watched my team and helped them...i gave attacking squads and troops supply crates to rearm and heal them which gives u points...i uaved flags and i scanned and spotted like mad...i finished the map with 62 points which got doubled which proves that helping your team does work...although i did have a fairly successful BH squad on my team :D

Yep when you play big map in 64 mode all you do to get commander point is to sit back and relax (ive got 116 commander points for that ^^)

loool i was on a 32 man map i thought that was quite weird there was a 60min time limt and the map lasted a while...cos on a map like Kubra Dam flags change hands frequently then they get recaptured getting you points :D

NO NO NO NO.
If your dead you cannot use your tools.
If your runnin around shooting you cannot use your tools.
Commanders should not be out runnin around.
Its very frustrating to be attacking a flag an tryin to get UAV support only to see the commander is busy flyin around or drivin a tank or doin anything but helpin his teammates.

Whatever, I can fly in the gunner position of the cobra and command as well. If your squads call what they need, its a point, select, click.

Repair bridges that your team needs, send in UAV when needed. Arty white flags ( enemy ) you can get tons of points as commander. Then if you win its X2

Worse than a commander getting in the fight is a commander who has to get in the fight to go cap a flag to keep the team alive.
The best way to get commander points is to spot everything especially the enemy troops near your guys. If they engage them and kill them you get points. Also give your squads orders. If they follow them you will also receive points.
I usually don't randomly drop supplys. I tell the squadleader that supplys are available and wait for his request. The same goes for the UAV.
Once I figured this out I got my commander badge right away.

The ideal commander gets down & dirty with his troops. It HEAVILY raises morale, and there enough quiet spots for you to set a UAV or artillery post.

Wrong, wrong, wrong.
If you are commanding you aren't doing justice as a helo gunner.
If you are gunning, you aren't fully doing your job as a commander.
You are supposed to keep a constant eye on the situation of the battle. Uav and arty are the smallest part. Using continuous sat scans to spot individual threats to your teammates is imperative. The majority of the time you should be using scans to watch your teammates backs. All through the match I alert my teammates when a threat approaches them, especialy if they dont see it coming since the uav covers a mere fraction of the map. I keep an eye on my armor in the field, and try to keep them repaired proactively. You are their eyes in the sky, not a combatant. That is why commanders get NO points for any personal effort in game other than commanding.
Show me a commander fighting and I'll show you a commander in derilection of duty. It doesn't raise moral, it angers anyone on your team who fully understands the position.
The only moving around a commander should be doing is when he/she is moving to a secure hiding spot in a forward area so he/she can act as a forward spawn point.

The EASIEST way to get the commander badge is on a map with the Black Hawk.
Go Engineer, go on USMC, jump in the blackhawk... When they cap a flag, you get a point, simple.
Well this is the only way i could get it myself :p but im a nub.

Like Lith1um said, the way to get commander badge is to do everything the commander is supposed to do.
You really are missing the point but the upside is teams with commanders like you are a whole lot easier to beat.

Morale being raised? If I see a commander in the frontlines being no more than a grunt with special powers, my morale goes DOWN knowing that this commander isn't fit for the job and not dedicated or loyal to the task he is given. When someone's a commander, his job is not to get down and dirty with his troops. There is no "brothers-in-arms" or "shining leadership" aura going on in BF2 when a commander is in a tank or firing his gun, it just means he doesn't want to use the power he is given for the rest of the match and just want to have fun by fragging. Any commanders who just wants to get in the front should resign, at least they get points for killing and assisting.
