OK first a little info you probably already knew before I tell you how I got the badge...
There are 2 Commander scores:
1) The first is your score during the map you're playing, it appears at the top of the commander map and on the player scoreboard. This score is a kind of average of your current sides scores minus any negative teamwork scores you get, (from teamkilling with artillery). You cannot get positive teamwork points, only negative as Commander.
2) The second is your score at the end of the round. This isn't the same figure as the first. I believe it is the score I mentioned above plus some other points which I think you are credited by getting artillery kills and maybe something else. This is not counting the x2 bonus you get for winning the round and this explains why some Commanders can get big scores without getting a badge.
To get the badge you need a score of 40 before the map is over. This is a score of 40 from example number 1 I gave above. The best way to get this amount is by going on the USMC on Mashtuur City. Why? Because the Blackhawk Whores get a shed load of points on this map making it pretty easy for the average team score to be high enough to get the badge. I suspect a 64 player server is the best for this.
Now this is interesting to know. I started Mashtuur City feeling confident that I would get the badge, that is until I felt brave enough to launch an artillery strike on the enemy and some lonewolf n00b, (with passengers), drove a HumVee straight into my fire and I got -14 teamwork points! *sigh*
Anyway, I carried on playing thinking that if I get 26 points or over then it would prove that it is possible to get the badge on this map as long as I don't get any teamkills. So I hit 26 points and guess what? It gave me the badge anyway! In other words I don't think that it matters that you get any minus points or teamkills, as long as you would have acumulated 40 points without the teamkills then you get it anyway!
Would anyone like to confirm this and maybe we could get a sticky?
Good hunting! :D
P.S. I think I'll post this on some other forums and see if it helps.
