What i tried today and found work...
I got an APC from the rear base and drove it right to the front line. On the right side in one of the side streets just behind the buring car. From here i could see the entrance to the alley, as well as the hills behind. I managed to rack up 25 kills without dying till they finally came around the back. My apc actually ran out of ammo, which has never happened.
Seemed to be a good way to defend the position as you can take out maybe 1/4 of the stuff that comes your way before it passes. In the end the USMC had to rush their APCs past us to a back base cause we were holding really well...

heres my 2 cents:
as spec ops, at the start of the round run to the trees infront of the burned out APC by the first American spawn point. Camp there, sniping people with your rifle, tossing grenades, and blowing up tanks as they roll past.

You broke the number one rule of armor in this game.
Don't ever be stationary for more than about 5 seconds. Always keep moving!

you were probably just lucky. in how many rounds were you able to repeat the same tactic? not many, i'm guessing.

actually if he's talking about where the long wall is without an entrance its a pretty good spot until they get behind you and you should be able to tell when that happens. If the second MEC base is still friendly you only have 2 places to watch out for.

Of course Major Havoc up there looks like he knows that spot well with his 7000 kills to 2700 deaths. No ones that good they just find a good hiding spot and tk for vehicles.

Usually the USMC armour is waiting before the cross roads, picking off MEC units as they cross the road. MEC armour usually don't last very long if they stay by the burning car.
When using armour as MEC (on Karkand), I usually don't hang around infantry. People like to move about, run into your armour and punish you for the TK. :hmm:

wtf is karakland. Its Karkand
The next patch, on karkand, for the sake of good gameplay on 16 and 32 player they should disable apcs and tanks.
