The Battlefield Experience mod developers have released version 0.66. Below is a list of notable changes (among over one hundred and fifty).
- Decreased jump height
- Increased sprint time
- Added blood effects
- Added critical damage system to infantry (bleeding)
- Tweaked player rag doll physics
- Changed most handweapon sounds
- Added rangefinder to M1A2
- Fixed v.6 crash bug

Nice....I found a laser designator in this mod, I wonder how it works...cuz it's kind of useless with BOTS...

Sounds cool. Not sure about the jump height. Sure it will help against bunnies but ever get stuck going uphill? Sometimes sprint and jump is all that gets you up.

I'd like to thank the mod team on creating a really successful mod, THIS is how BF2 should have been...
I love the sniper rifle noise, and the zooming (But still needs fixes)
I've made a list of bugs/improvments that I've found:
- Snipe rifle zooms once more after each shot
- It would be bettter if the scope stayed in the same zoom after loading another round (Like CS:S with the awp)
- You can hear a weapon firing 500m away with the same volume as if you're firing yourself (Doppler effect?)
- AT sub-machine gun has the sound of a heavy mounted machine gun
- Missing strings of text in the menu (Some are in German)
- Why do most kits have no grenades or pistols?

The way i activated it was from a shortcut in the BFE folder.

What concept about vehicle mines vs troop mines didn't the mod team understand?
You can in fact jump on a live vehicle mine (I've done it myself) without it being triggered, since it needs a LOT more pressure to activate.

I have one question to all that play this mod. How many people are playing it?? In other words, is there alot of servers that offer this mod and are they full? I downloaded a GTA type of mod for the BF:V. I could only find 2 servers and there was literally 6 people playing it. One server only had 2 people ;/

I thought of that too.. a real vehicle mine usually needs more than 150 kg of pressure to detonate.

Ok guys listen.
Extract the folder inside the zip file into your mods folder in BF:2.
Go to the levels folder and click on the copymap.bat file to get the maps loaded into the mod.
In the main folder thiers a shortcut to launch the mod, and your set.
WILL SOMEONE PLEASE PUT UP A SERVER I LIKE THIS MOD IT'S FUN! Thanks!.

Jumping in Vanilla felt like you were on the moon. You can still get over most low objects. You cant jump ontop of a giant crate like you use to be able to.

We're working on fixing this. Will be fixed by next release.

Realism - Not everyone is issued a pistol and grenades.

Yes but Sprinting was slowed down, and sprint recovery increased so it takes longer to regain stanima.

Currently there is an issue with Dedicated Servers running it... we are looking for advise from other teams.
I don't know I think that the Project Reality mini-mod will be better.
Maybe, Maybe not... Alls I know is that we have released this and have been working hand in hand with the community for a couple of weeks now.

I'm liking what i see.
Here's what i like so far.
1. The new sounds are just fun and with the base up with my subwoofer they sound MUCH better then the one's from the original.
2. I like how thier is actually somewhat bullet drop. I'm guesing thier is but have not tested it, but the missle drop in the Helo's is awsome and put's some fun into flying them again.
3. Thanks for making the support gun usable!!! I can actually Hit! something now!
4. Thanks for making the guns more powerful!.
5. Thanks for evening out the kits. But i'm not sure why we don't have a pistol for those sticky situations :-/.
6. Thanks for making missles faster and hit harder.
7. No crosshairs, forcing peeps to use thier sights (Thank you).
Thinks I don't like.

4. I'm not liking the roller skate movement, it feels like i am on ice.

Nice mod though. I love the sounds and classes, as well as the adjusted weapon physics and loadouts. I suggest you make it so infantry dosn't set off AT mines though, to help realism. Most anti-tank mines require an applied pressure of 348.33 pounds to 745.16 pounds in order to detonate. I doubt your average soldier is that heavy.

I'd like to work with the developers on this mod if they would allow me... as a former active duty (Infantry) Marine of 4 years I see A LOT of potential for this mod. There's just a few things that are in-accurate.

To answer that latest question... the only way I got it to work was through singleplayer.
Garrison said they are working on making it flawless for dedicated which probably means not many servers are running it (I couldn't find one even with "Only Same Version" in my BF2 Server search).

Keep in mind although the M2 .50 cal for example has sights (front post)... NO Marine gunner uses it. A Machinegunner, which I was, I was forced to gauge distance and make an educated shot. So please... keep the mounted guns without crosshairs or sights.
I agree with the anti-tank ammo. Most gunners had the availability of at least 3 shots. However, this does force players to utilize their support gunner more (which those extra shots were carried by in combat).
MP-5 should be removed completely. Engineers did not get issued MP-5's. They were issued M16A2's.
I do VERY MUCH like this mod. I have but two complaints in the sound department:
-The M-4 (which is actually supposed to be an M16A4 used by Marines) sounds the same as the M16A2... same caliber (5.56mm). So those two sounds should be indenticle.
-The 50 cal should revert back to the original. That sound was close to how it actually sounds in real life... this one is FAR too quiet.
GREAT work though.

You start it via the ms-dos-commandfile BFE.BAT that's located in ... \ea programs\battlefield 2\mods\bfe.06\
You can easily make a desktop shortcut to this file on your desktop.
OR, you could launch BF2, log in,
click on the COMMUNITY button,
click on the CUSTOM GAME button,
select bfe.06 in the list,
click on the ACTIVATE button,
BF2 will restart and go into BFE mode. (IF you've installed the mod correctly.)

I loaded up through BFE, and then filtered for "Same Version Only". I got 600+ servers to show up white text, but none of them seemed to be running the mod. I kept getting, "This server does not allow clientside mods. Please revert back to the original BF2 to play on this server.".
So PLEASE... if someone knows a server running this I would LOVE to know what they are. Perhaps the moderators here might be able to start a "Server IP's" thread and sticky it so people can view the various running servers or add their own?
