View Full Version : I'm Not New to the Game, But What is a Noob?

Ive been playing battlefield since the 1942 game, and im sure logged countless hours on all 3 of them like many of you....however, after all that time in servers and hearing the word "noob" thousands of times, I STILL don't exactly understand the meaning or the origin. To be honest, I've always hated the term because it sounds so friggin lame for some reason to me....this will seem hypocritical since im talking about a video game, but that term seems so damn nerdy! Just my opinion, but anyway I'd like to know where the heck that term came from and why its used WAAAAY to much in games? ESPECIALLY when people don't know what they're talking about, and as if its actually a valid form of argument!

Me:
"Hey man why didn't you pick me up, you drove right by?"
Dude:
"Cause you're a noob"

Me:
"Hey watch it man you keep jamming into the base too fast thats why they keep seeing us and killing us all!"
Dude2:
"You're the noob"

or sometimes it comes REALLY cool...like this:

n00b <----cool zeros to REALLY talk ****.

Anyway, just curious and what not.

Just TK them, and if they ask why, say "cause you're a n00b"

Yeah i guess i just get called a nerd because nobody else in my immediate friend group plays really....so we'll be at a friends house drinking or whatever, and of course getting drunk leads to me wanting to go play commander in BF2...among other things haha. But anyway I digress..

You can write some simple noobish of your own, however, by slamming your face into your keyboard repeatedly.
