Hey guy, I completely formatted my computer. I have absolutely NOTHING from the original. I reinstalled BF2, and updated it to the newest patch.
Let me quote my original post...
Been playing this game for over a month now, but in the last week, the game seems to completely freeze my computer. I can't alt-tab out, I can't hit ctrl-alt-delete, nothing works. I tried having task manager in my alternate monitor when playing a few times, and it froze my computer with CPU Usage only at low-80% (which is what it's at usually).
I used to be able to play all I wanted, with no problems, but now I can barely play in a game before it freezes. I can't connect the freeze to a certain instance, because it's seemingly random. I could by flying a plane, I could be sniping, I could even be staring at the ground.
I used to be able to play with no problem, but now I can't even play a full round.
I did the obvious and tried remembering what changes I made to my computer recently, and couldn't remember anything major. However, I did do a system restore back to 2 weeks ago, and that didn't help at all.
Here are my computer specs if it helps:
Operating System: (Windows XP Home Edition, Service Pack 2 (5.1 - 2600))
Uptime: (1h 3m 13s)

I have the exact same computer specs now, but a clean harddrive, and a fresh install of Windows XP and BF2. I used to be able to play BF2 on these specs, but now it's freezing. Anyone have ANY idea of ANYTHING I could do that might fix this?
I'm running BF2 Settings on mostly med/high. Thanks again...
