When I find myself playing the Karkand map, I have recently decided to take the Support Kit, and focus on the 2nd flag from the USMC base. If I am MEC, I spawn at this flag, and if I am USMC, I try to take this flag. Once I am there, whether one team or the other, I try and hold the flag.

For clarification, this flag is right next to a tall building, and there is a break in one wall. The building has a ladder going up about two stories. Then there is another ladder that is maybe 8 feet, up to a small section. On the opposite side of this small area is another 8 foot ladder, back down to a small section, immediately looking over the flag. Finally, there is a ladder going up to the top.

Once on the top, there are normally only three ways to get killed.
1) You get too close to the edge, and someone Snipes you.
2) Someone climbs up to get you.
3) Artillery

So, at any rate, I have been playing Squad Leader on this map, and try to take anyone out that comes into this flag. With Support, I have unlimited ammo, so as long as I am alive, I can keep getting Defend points. As Squad Leader, players spawn on the roof next to me, and parachute down to take the flag which I have been able to keep clear of enemy players in many cases.

When all is quiet, I dump Ammo bags over the edge for some free Ammo points as well.

This building also overlooks the open square adjacent to it, and you can just barely see the next flag down the road as well.

In one game I played, I had an Anti-Tank and Sniper on my team, and they were really able to get a lot of kills in, as I kept them full on ammo.

Just thought it may be something interesting to try if you haven't done so yet.

Sounds like a plan. Would work well for people trying to get their sniper badges.

I joined a 64 player game last night, and was suprised when I was suddenly on Karkand in a 16 player map. That's right, 64 players with the USMC home base and the three MEC bases in a line.

I was MEC, and went to this spot.

It took a while, but USMC broke through and MEC fell back. Fell back into my lap that is! What Bliss. If only I had a screen shot.

But it looked something like this for most of the game.

You got an ammo point.
You got an ammo point.
You got an ammo point.

I think you see what I am driving at. I think I may have had a few Grenade kills, but didn't trust throwing them because of the potential for TK's. I was afraid to poke my head over the ledge for more than a second for fear of getting it blown off as well. I just stayed prone and chucked Ammo bags. :)
