EA Games sat down with the Shattered Faith (http://sf.prolificgames.com/) mod team for an interview about their mod. The team also posted three renders on their homepage.
[EA]Mike: Ok, let’s move on. Tell us about Shattered Faith and what the deciding factor was in building a new sci-fi game .vs just creating another Galactic Conquest?
Scott: Well, we obviously wanted to move away from using someone else’s intellectual property, and to create something original. We have a very creative team, with a lot of ideas, and we often felt restricted trying to fit so closely to the Star Wars mythos. It’s been a wonderful experience to be able to stretch our legs, and build something new from the ground up.

Then youd be wrong ;)

mwuahahahha. yeh i do, and i know alot of the others do, we all check around see what people think, are we doing good, are we doing bad, do people like this, does it suck etc.

One thing we all agree on as a team is not to ignore the public as you guys are the ones that tell us what works, what you like and dislike etc.
I'll talk as much as i can lol.

Only thing that worries me is if the teams are so vastly different it may be hard to even teams out one way or the other?

we will go over alot of the balancing through testing. We will make sure that it is as balanced as we can make it. of course we dont expect to get it 100% perfect right out the gate. the best Balance test is when 1000's of people have it and report back :D

Then why in the hell is Galactic Conquest feature on a Lucasarts owned website. By the looks of things they are supporting the mod and the mod isn't profiting from it. Cause it's considered a Fan modifcation and they liked your work

We all read the forums from time to time. ;) (I'm SZier from SFaith). Usually I only have time to read these forums on topics of our own news posts though.

As Preacher said, balancing teams is always a top priority. It's more of a challenge when you change the *way* one team fights, but in the end it is worth it to create something fun and different. It's so much more than just different weapons and vehicles, and a lot of time will be spent (in testing and listening to release feedback) on balancing the classes and various special abilities they have.

Thetron, I'm not quite sure what you are getting at... We wanted to move away from someone else’s intellectual property because we wanted to make something original and new. Galactic Conquest was a labor of love for us, but to a certain extent (and over a lot of time) we started feeling confined by the mythos. Lucas Art was very good to us in allowing us to continue, and yes we were non-profit.
