I looked around before I made this post and could not find an answer to my question. My question is, I joined a clan/group, and want to know if I can keep my old stats/combine them with my new name? You know, adding clan tags..|NAEA|...Thank You...

At the moment NO, you have to make a new name but I think later this month there will be a change and we may be able to do it but don't quote me on that.

Here's a few emails one of my fellow clan mates had with EA support about this issue. It's pretty funny...

James to EA:
My original account is James127 and I want to change it. Why can't I change my account name? I tried to change it to |-TC-|KlownKiller and the ONLY thing that has changed is the name in BFHQ. Why is it not changing for in-game and login? I don't want to start a new account and lose all of my stats. Help.

EA to James:
Unfortunately you can't change you account name. You can only change you nickname by going to gamespyid.com.

James to EA:
Quote from response: Unfortunately you can't change you account name. You can only change you nickname by going to gamespyid.com.
I know this, the question was WHY? I don’t see any valid reason to keep people from being able to change they’re gaming name. As long as it’s not already in use, Who cares? Please answer, WHY can I not change my game name. I don’t need a restatement of the original question. Thank you.

EA to James:
Hi!
Thank you for contacting Electronic Arts!
We apologize for the inconvenience, but the user names for accounts are one of the only pieces of information pertaining to an account that can never be changed. You may, however, create a new account with the user name you would prefer. Unfortunately, all your badges, tokens, ratings or friends list on the other account cannot be transferred to the new one.
This also means that you cannot transfer your subscription from one account name to another. For example, if you have purchased a full year subscription for Battlefield 2, you can not transfer game time from that account to another EA Member Name.
If there is anything else I can help you with please let me know.
Thank you,
Sree Kumar
