IF your just making a map go into the level editor. And you will see a little blue plus mark on the top left hand corner. Click that and it will drop down basically everything you can put into the map. Including vechicles, vegitation and all that good stuff.

from the tutorial:

Mod Content:
Before we go any further we have to check one thing.
6. Select “Mod>Mod Manager…” from the main menu.
7. A window labeled “Mod Manager – Active Mod : bf2” will pop up with two tabs. Click on the tab labeled “Editor Content”.
8. Notice the list of folders in the left window. Make sure that all the boxes next to them are checked. This determines what you will have access to in your map:

<ModManager.jpg>

9. Once you have checked all the boxes, click “okay” to close the window. It may take a few moments for the editor to load all the content.

Then:

Placing Static Objects:
The map would be pretty boring without some buildings to run around. Let’s place them now. This operation is handled a bit differently than placing spawns.

25. On the left in the Resources bar, expand the following folder path: “bf2>objects>staticobjects>military>buildings”:

26. Scroll the Resource window down a bit if you need to and expand the “basebarracks” folder. You should now see the same name with a file icon next to it.
27. Drag this into your scene where you want to place the building:

Note: Notice that there is a folder named “basebarracks” and inside it is a file named the same thing. This is the same for all assets. You must drag the file to the scene in order to place it. If you try to drag the folder or anything other than the file to the scene, you will get a “NO” icon to let you know you can’t place what you have selected.

It sounds like all the mod content did not load when you did that part of the instructions. Did you try to load it again?

You may want to uninstall and reinstall the editor again. It seems like some of the stuff wasnt downloaded when you DLed it first. When you hit the blue plus sign it should have everything on there and it seems like stuff was left out.

actually I do have a problem with the bf2 editor, when i first start the program and that window comes up (select startup mod ) I can not click on bf2 or it crashes so i have to create a new mod a then from there i made the map. And i do have some items like the barrels and oil pump.

I tried to fix the problem by reinstalling it but it did'nt work, I also redownloaded it and then installed and it still had the same problem. But i do know why it is doing that. When i made my first map for I didnt save in the right folder so I extracted it to the bf2 editor folder and that screwed it up, LMAO it was a pretty stupid idea

i do believe (may be wrong) but there should be a selection for tall grass under the layers box where you choose what each layer looks like. you know where you see sand, grass etc. well i think there is a tall grass option.

I am sorry for all the questions but I have another one

I gave up on trying to get the objects so i am just going to make this map with no houses etc. I am just going to add the blown up vechicles but i have a question how do i add smoke to the tanks helicopters and other blown up vechicles.

also made this cool object, you take the chair from the blackhawk and then place the parachute on top of it so it looks like somone ejected from the plane. It looks really good, just thought i would give you my little invention for helping me
