BF2SP64 is a modification for the full version of Battlefield 2 that will add 16, 32, and 64 player sized single player maps to the original game. Maps also include Mashtuur City, Kubra Dam, & Wake Island 2007. Including the additional Control Points, vehicles, & stationary weapon emplacements that the multiplayer maps have.
BF2SP64 also works great for Coop games in small Lan environments, so you and your friends can combat those bots. PunkBuster and regular MultiPlayer maps will not be effected by this mod but Coop will require everyone in the same Lan to have the same version of Battlefield 2 and this mod. This Mod includes automated Install support & full uninstall capability.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is this a 64 Bots Mod?
A: No, but you can use this with a 64 Bot Mod. 64 reffers to the map size.
Q: Why won't it install? I get a message that Battlefield 2 was not found.
A: You must have the full version of Battlefield 2 and you may need to download Windows Script Hosting 5.6 from http://www.microsft.com/downloads (http://www.microsft.com/downloads)
Q: It installed fine but my game crashes to desktop on launch of the maps.
A: You may have some corrupt game files or another mod that might be interfering with this mod. Worst case scenario, you may need to reinstall Battlefield 2.
Q: How do I start/host a Coop game?
A: Launch a single player game on one machine and note the IP address and port, then launch a multiplayer game on the other systems and manually connect to the single player system. Personally I have not had time to try this myself but I was told it works great.
Q: Can I use other Realism Mods with this mod?
A: Most other mods will work flawlessly with this mod but some may cause unforseen issues such as a crash to desktop during load.
Q: Why does the menu not show the 64 Player sized maps?
A: This is an issue that will be resolved in a future release. It says 16 player but will show you that it is a 64 player sized map on loading.
Q: Are there plans to have multiple maps listed in the menu?
A: Yes, I currently plan to add a selection between the 16, 32, & 64 player sized maps in a future release. I also plan to include Kubra Dam & Mashtuur City for single player in a future release.

Which realism mod? You might have to just install the realism mod and then the coop one.

Hey , this mod is SUPER, its like you play online with all the right flagpositions and vehiclespawns, a really great work.
And its really easy to mix with any realismmod because you only have to copy the 64Maps to the other mod.
great !
I give it a perfect 10 :D

But you should include some readme.txt where is described what the installer does, and where the backups are saved.

Currently, to keep the clutter down and keep it as simple as possible (for some people out there) ;) I am only going to put a more detailed readme on the pages that it is posted and also in the install instructions included in the installer.
realism 2.8 and coop 2.0

Sorry man, I did not make any of those and really can not support them. If I were you I would try contacting the makers or ask around in discussion forums for those products.
Sorry.
I test first with 64 players. Ok.
later
install BF2SP64 - v1.03 Public Beta. Ok
Open Bf2 and game sp, 4 minutes game crash.
Change number players to 32. Ok
Go to game and crash, other map, crash, etc, 2-4 min in game....

Mr_47, what version of Windows are you running? Basicly that message denotes that the Battlefield 2 install location was not found and that can be for several different reasons.
1.) You do not have Battlefield 2 installed on your system.
2.) You do not have Windows Script Hosting installed on your system.

yo, i was just wondering if anyone else had this problem - i installed the files etc and it crashed just before the loading level screen. i fixed it by adding the 'CombatArea.usedByPathFinding 1' thing at the end of the gameplayobjects.con.
yeah......
i have a pretty heavily modded version so that could be to blame, but do you know anything about what happened? thanks
ps, how the heck did you make this? its incredible. is it all pathfindeded???

The only minus is that you have to buy new CPUs if you wanna play with many bots, i have an A64 @ 2400MHz and more than 40 Bots makes no fun, to much CPU-Usage. But else its doing fine, no crashes or something.

Currently the navmesh that is used is the original 16 player map size, but future versions will have larger navmeshes. The key was to discover the flexability in the original navmesh and allow the bots to make full use of that area. Air vehicles are the exception since they do not require the use of the navmesh so I just had them spawn next to the vehicle and allow entry on spawning. I already have a small list of improvements for v1.04 that will improve the maps slightly and make them even more simular to the MultiPlayer 64 Maps. I will definately add the "CombatArea.usedByPathFinding 1" to all the maps. Some already had them but it never seemed to make much of a difference since the limitations to the navmesh will override these settings anyway.

08-11-2005, 04:57 PM
is this 64 bots or 64 size?
Viathon
08-11-2005, 05:02 PM
64 Sized. Since some users systems can not handle 64 bots (like my system) I have decided to leave that upto the users. If you have a 64 player mod applied, this mod will not effect it and will use the 64 players.
vizorg
08-11-2005, 05:54 PM
hello again, i was wondering if itd be possible to select from the 64 and 16 player maps in the game, and possibly in the future - 32. its just my computer cant handle 64 players, so im stuck at 32, and for these huge maps it diminishes the gameplay somewhat. that said, i play 32 players on a 16size map normally so its quite a large difference at the moment.
Viathon
08-11-2005, 07:07 PM
Map selection is not incorporated into this version but is something I am looking into for future versions. Eventually I would like to include Kubra Damb & Mashtuur City along with a selection of the original 16 player size, 32, & 64. However this is not currently supported in version 1.03, maybe 1.04 ;)

I was actually refering to the map sizes, but yes you are entirely right. You can change the number of bots very easily. Plus there are very small mods out there that will do it for you. Hey HicRic, what do you think of the recent product?

great work again so download this file if u dont have it
I just wanted to register an account and thank you for your mod to enable the full sized maps. Like most BF2 players, I was baffled and amazed at the developers lack of interest in setting up an enjoyable single player mode. Hopefully we'll eventually see a mod to make up for their failures, and have GUI options for changing map sizes, bot numbers and difficulties, and everything else that should have been customizable but isn't.
Until then, this mod with a little text file editing for increasing the bot numbers is the closest there is, but at least the single player is now fun.

Does this mean you can ONLY play 64-player maps in SP? Or can you still choose to play the 16-player maps after this is installed? And how do you uninstall it if you want to go back? Thanks.
Viathon

A restore file is placed on the desktop after installation. And, yes for the time being this replaces the single player 16 player maps.

Decent mod however, the bots don't go after the "extra" flags and some die immediately after spawn.
Kinda lonely capping some of the "extra" flags.

Hey Viathon, i'm an avid supporter of this mod , i think its awesome but something is up. When i installed the mod everything went through, like i saw the lines of script, and then a black box, where you type sript came up for a millisecond and disappeared, and all looked ok. No error messages and it just went away. Then when i started the game up the map said it was still 16 player size. And i couldn't select any other points and the red lines were still there? I'm talking about the in-game map, right before you spawn. Is it supposed to be like that?
The maps should show sixteen player previews until you select them. Once it switches to the loading screen you should see the updated preview, as well as during the respawn screen.

Do we have to place the .exe in a certain directory?
Viathon
08-12-2005, 08:17 PM
No you do not need to place the exe in a certain directory. I have had one other person say that this has happened to him. He ran the Restore file and then reinstalled it and it worked. I figured it was a fluke, but I may have to look into this.
Hound_Dawg
08-12-2005, 08:37 PM
the restore file for the BFSP42? cause yeah i just played single player on 16 player maps, bit it was a lot of fun. So when im loading it it should look like a 64 player map? Also in-game the boundaries are the same (believe me, i tried  ) But i guess this is only beta. So how would i do the restore file? Nothing is wrong at all with the game itself. Man i sure am glad your hear to answer our questions. Thanks.

Here are two screen shots to attempt to illustrate what the map previews should look like.

great work again in earlier post,

Do you have BF2 installed to the default Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2 path?
Yep i installed it right into the default directory.
[EDIT] I looked at your second pic and wow clean sweep is huge! I've never played online only with expert bots, i bet ya i could own so many ppl :P. Man that looks awesome
It's definitely an improvement over the sixteen player map. If you enjoy flying the jet (and why else would you be playing Clean Sweep?) then you know how easy it is to run out of room to maneuver.
I don't bother with multiplayer, and it's only with this mod and increasing the bot and ticket counts that I've started to get some entertainment value from this game.
Currently the navmesh that is used is the original 16 player map size, but future versions will have larger navmeshes.
I'll be looking forward to that. So far the problems, in general terms, seem to be that the soldiers won't travel to the newly opened territory (nor can they be ordered to do so), and you can't capture flags that are included in that space. There's a red line drawn through them on the map and they can't be overtaken, making victory by conquering territory impossible.
Still, it's been nice to have the regions opened. I just treat all that new space as my own personal toy box, such as the air craft carriers with their helicopters and jet fighters.

Great news! Version 1.04 is getting close to completion and will contain many improvements. I have already started work to support a dedicated server option for AI supported bots in Coop mode. The new version will also operate completely independent of the game files, so there is no way it can 'Fudge' anything up. I have also been toying with the idea of integrating Kubra Dam & Mashtuur City into single player, but for the time being the AI will be confined to aircraft only. At least until I can get a working navmesh going. What do you guys think?

Could there be a version without the installer? I really want to use it but i cant because the installer doenst work with x64. Maybe I could install it on my other computer which is 32 bit and copy the modified files.
So, do you think I should keep them excluded until the navmeshes are done?
I believe so. Otherwise you're opening yourself to numerous "why doesn't the AI work?" questions (don't ever expect people to read the readme file) and it'll cause more trouble than it's worth. Besides, as the person above stated it hardly constitutes playable maps.
I will be content just to have the existing maps fully functional.

Currently, I do not plan on releasing a non-installer version because that would be about 50Mb in size. With the new version 1.04 it would be a little closer 100Mb. Right now I am suggesting that users of Windows x64 install on a 32 bit OS and copy the files over. I do plan on eventually getting the installer to operate at true 32 bit to support x64 but it will not be in 1.04.

Why? Well it always crashes to destop, and i can't play online anymore beacsue of it. If anyone wants to be unable to play online, highly reccomend this mod. I join a server now, and it says my BF2 is modiefied. Great, im gonna have to reinstall yet again.

1.03 is Beta. Does it only seem to do it with Gulf of Oman?
Some people are having the same issue where they are unable to play on Ranked servers after applying the mod. Fortunately you can easily remove the mod with the restore file on your desktop. I do have this corrected already in 1.04 (which will be the official release). I hope that will get a better rating from you. ;)

Very well. Enjoy the game, default.
If anybody else is having stability issues with any or all the maps, please let me know. I do not have a whole lot of time to test every aspect of the game and would apreciate any feedback I can get. I am getting close to releasing 1.04 to testers and hope to have all known issues resolved by that time.

Sounds like some people like to be rude. Remember default, not everyone has the same problem as you and that some people actually like the single player mod. You just got mad because it didn't work for you. :)
Just remember like Viathon said it was only a beta. Gotta take risks once in awhile.

I would of liked it too, infact i did for the few minutes was able to play, but not being able to acces multiplayer again was the huge downside, causing a full re-installation. I probably would of played single player alot more, to practice, as on 16 player maps just arnt big enough.
Who can play multiplayer after installing this ?

All I did default is just clicked on the restore on the desktop to play multiplayer, but I don't like multiplayer as much and really don't like playing online so I like this single player mod. I did not have any problems installing this mod or anything, so I don't know what to tell ya. All I know is that is worked for my system.

I dont believe anyone can, thats why its good to read the thread where it says repetedly that it interferes with PunkBuster and online play(which in itself is heavyhanded lack of decent detection crap on EA's part)
here, unless I am mistaken, Viathon states about the beta 1.04 hopefully running seamlessly with the game files
What do you guys think?
thats what many are waiting for, so that we can enjoy the large maps in SP and still play online.

Thanks for the support guys. I am currently awaiting feedback from my testers and hope to have the new version released by early next week. I am currently looking for additional testers, specificly people who have any troubles with v1.03 like default that would be willing to try the pre-released version 1.04. If you are interested, email me or send a PM. I will then provide a link to download.

Hello to all,
I confirm that after installation of this mod (without problem), I'm no longer able to join a multiplayer server (initial content modified), I didn't find the restore batch on the desktop and I manually restored "server.zip" files to sp directory but it's not enough because, sp maps appear locked to 64p maps... ::confused:
so I think that other files have been altered and not included in backup...
Finally I had to reinstall BF2 + patch 1.02.
Not so nice, I prefer keep bf2 files genuine...
Cheers KF.

The 1.03 mod only modifies the server.zip files. I have not heard of too many people actually having any issues of any kind uninstalling but I have made a seperate Uninstaller available in the Downloads section on my website. http://www.shadowreaver.net/~bf2sp64 The Uninstaller will work with all versions of BF2SP64 (from the Alpha's to the Beta's). The new version of BF2SP64 v1.04 will install independently of all the game files and will not effect the install of Battlefield 2 in any way.

It is nearing completion and will be much better than 1.03. You can check the official website for updates. I post on there whenever I have a moment to and have some news to post. I do not expect the updated mod to take much longer. FuShe Pass will probably take the most time to redo. Anyways, here is the site again:

Worked fine for me. Apart from being unable to connect to online servers and that my score during singleplayer was going negative i.e for every enemy kill i got my score went -2 points down
I know scores in SP dont really mean anything, but its annoying to say the least.
Ive unistalled the 64 bot mod and my 16 bot SP mode still gives me a negative score!!!! You've broke it!;)
Not to worry, im building my new PC next week so everything will be w4nktastic

Got a bit of a problem:
I'm running Windows XP 64 bit edition. There is a built in sort of version of Script 5.6 that I found, but I am unable to install Windows Script 5.6 due to "logo requirements" in the actual program. I run your program, and it does use a form of Win script, but I can only catch that it is compiling something, followed by what looks like blue setup screen in a window. Upon running BF2, there is no change in the size of map. I look for new files in the BF2 directory, and look for "last modified" files that correspond to the time i ran the 64mod: I find nothing. I'm not sure what I can do, short of modding it myself (which, judging by the work you've done, doesn't seem like a 1 hour project =) ) What are my options? I appreciate any info you can throw my way, as I'm unable to play BF2 online due to port blockage (shake fist).
p.s. default install folder in xp 64 is c:\Program files(x86)\ there's the regular c:\Program files\, too.. I think it has something to do with 64 bit progs and 32 bit progs..not sure tho..
P.P.S. I ran the 16 player maps with 64 bots playing. I didn't even notice a drop in performance (maybe because of 64 bit cpu?), but I did notice that I had about 20 stinger missiles flying at me as soon as i tried to take off .. lol

Hey this mods just what i was looking for, thanks dude! This is bout what the game should have came with (as others have said).
I got a question though. Since there's still issues with the AI capturing all control points on the larger maps, i was wondering if its possible to just start a single player game with standard 16 player maps and have a friend be able to join in on it too? (havent even been able to try this mod out with the co-op deal, no LAN party till this friday)
I'm having the same probem as Hound_dawg- the initial install starts up, then the DOS box pops up for a split second, no text is displayed, and it closes. The patch does not appear to be installed. The really wierd thing is I have a second computer that is almost identical hardware and software, and it installed fine on it. I'm trying to track down the differences, but if you could point me in the right direction it would help... Both have the full DVD BF2 installed in a non-default local, but it is the same one (c:\games\bf2), both have windows scripting host installed. Both are patched to BF2 1.03, and I tried bf2sp64 1.03 and 1.04. Any ideas?

this is no joke. decrease bots & tickets. this worked for me, or it could of been the number of other things i did.
what I gathered was its most likely ram; that causes these crashes. if im wrong, anyone with 1 - 2 Gbs of ram - and battlefield 2 crashes after 2 mins. please post.

It has been a while since I last posted and so much has changed. I will get to all that in a later posting but I just wanted to through this out that I have a backup site up and running, since the Shadowreaver site is currently down. The new alternative site is http://bf2sp64.googlepages.com and that is where I am currently linking my Beta projects to at this time. Version 1.05 is not officially released just yet but the Beta (currently Build 58) can be downloaded there. Check it out!

Are you referring to Viathon's v1.04 or the beta 1.05? The 1.04 maps did not have a significantly-expanded bot area (navmesh) since the tools to mod this were not available when it was released. Only the human-playable area was actually increased (although it was possible to have bots spawn in vehicles and operate them outside the navmesh). The 1.05 version (and the map pack that FFOLKES posted) should have true fully-bot-useable maps. Keep in mind that all of these are still technically in beta though.

I got the same problem.. but I also edited some localization files so I'm not sure which one caused it..
I don't see how using 64 maps in SP would have anything to do with multiplayer though...

Hi, new to these forums - First post.
I recently installed the 1.05 BETA version of this mod, and was really looking forward to it. However, when I tried to start it up, I had no text in any of the buttons on the menu, except placeholder text. Kind of makes it tricky to navigate the menus. ;) Any idea what might cause this?
I tried just copying a set of the levels to my mods/bf2/levels folder, and was able to run the level fine, so it seems to work. (well, one CTD but it seemed to be an isolated incident.)
Question - Is it dodgy to just copy the level files across to my main folder? And should I copy anything else across? I know next to nothing about modding BF2 so use laymans terms...
Great mod though. It's a blast to use the larger maps offline. Many thanks for all your hard work.

I'll second that. Does anyone know of a way to get it working on a dedicated server? It works great in a single player like it should, but I would like to put it on a dedicated server as well. When you try to add the map rotation, it doesn't show any maps for COOP mode. I wonder if there is an easy way to get them to show up, or is there a way to make a map rotation that might work with them anyway?
Could you please tell me how to uninstall? it messing up BF2 sp

You will need to modify all the maps to get co-op mode since it did not exist when the last beta was released. See the BFSP forum to see how: http://battlefieldsingleplayer.planetbattlefield.gamespy. com/forums/index.php?showtopic=4647 .

I know I'm late to the party, but wanted ask to ask if anyone knows of a mod that would allow the BF2 1.3 Dedicated Server to run 32 and 64 player maps while in coop mode? I am currently using the BF2CC and BF2CC GUI to run my dedicated server and all works like a charm. The only drawback is the fact that only the 16 player maps are usable while running coop mode. I attempted to fix this issue by increasing the total amount of players and bots, but it didn't work and the 16 player map pops up when the server is started.
Please, someone help! LoL
Thanks,
Volvo
Yes, xstax981 has done a terrific job putting all the maps together along with coding some of the missing ones in SP/Co-op. Most of the maps were made by the BFSP team.
You can download it here:

Just want to make sure that the BF2SP642.0 and 3.0 versions work with the BF2 Dedicated Server 1.3. If these mods fix the singleplayer limitation as well, then that is definitely a plus, but for me the focus is improving my dedicated server set-up.
Thanks again FFOLKES for your help and direction.
Volvo
I don't know about the 3.0 version since I haven't seen it. But the 2.0 version and my Unlock mods all work in SP, Co-op, Lan, dedicated server, and unranked servers. Just delete all the .md5 files found in the map folders and server.zip files if you are trying to run the maps on a dedicated server.
I suggest you installing one of my Unlock mods and then copy xstax981's maps into the Unlock mod Levels folder. You have to install the mod on the dedicated server and all client computers. They all have to be running the same mod.

Only one question, how can I do so all the bots are on the same team?

Well, simply you muck around with the "Bot Ratio" bar when your setting up the game. if you slide it up near the 90's, the majority of the bots will be on the other team. If you swing down to around 10, then nearly all the bots will be on your team. Get it? :D
As for SP64, Im downloading it now. It looks promising :D

to uninstall go to c:/program files/eagames/battlefield2/mods
then you will see a list of mods and find bfsp64...delete that folder...you are done
but the mod shouldnt give you modified content in the first place

Hey, sorry to bring back the dead but I just downloaded BF2SP64 and it has changed my entire love for the game. My only question is how to use the bot changer. I open it up from my desktop and follow the instructions (inserting number of bots and then their level of playing) and then hit enter yadda yadda yadda but maybe I'm expecting too much but when I go to play the game I'm still playing with 16, 32, 64 bots and not the 12 (random) I chose...Am I doing something wrong?

I would post over at the BFSP forums to get a response.

But, I see that "someone" is reading this thread, so maybe you'll get an answer here. =)

hello :)
to save me a bit of typing, have a nosey at this thread:
http://battlefieldsingleplayer.planetbattlefield.gamespy. com/forums/index.php?showtopic=3768
and if you are into Coop or SP, I'd also recommend the mod AIX, you'll find that our bots are quite alot more challenging than vanilla battlefields bots ;)
(eg taking out commander assets, using boats properly and many other fixes)
