S***! I need some help I did everything it said in the level editor and I finally saved it. Then It told me this;
Congratulations, You have now created your first playable map. Here’s how to play it:
1. Quit the editor.
2. Launch BF2.
3. In the main menu, click on “Multiplayer”, then “Create Local”.
4. Find “My_Level – 16” in the map list. (it will have listings for 16, 32, and 64 players. Just choose 16)
5. Add it to the “Chosen Maps” list.
6. Click “Start Server”.
I just can't find my map though. Any ideas what's wrong?

It's not a mod I just made a level and want to play it. I noticed the other level files were zipped up.....would that make a difference?

Alright I found out the problem... You have to have a folder named Info with a discription of the map.. Check out how a bf2 map has thiers..
Use this as a template and save it as "yourmap.desc" in your yourmap/Info/
<map gsid="102">
<name> Map Name Here </name>
<briefing locid="LOADINGSCREEN_MAPDESCRIPTION_dragonvalley">map description for modders maps not localized (english only)</briefing>
<music> common/sound/menu/music/load_CH_music.ogg </music>
<modes>
<mode type="gpm_cq">
<maptype ai="1" players="16" type="doubleassault" locid="GAMEMODE_DESCRIPTION_doubleassault">Unlocalized test for this mode on this map</maptype>
<maptype players="32" type="assault" locid="GAMEMODE_DESCRIPTION_assault">Unlocalized test for this mode on this map</maptype>
<maptype players="64" type="assault" locid="GAMEMODE_DESCRIPTION_assault">Unlocalized test for this mode on this map</maptype>
</mode>
</modes>
</map>

Well i Fixed the problem by Making sure my Video Settings were ALL on Medium Quality (the Terrain in particular) and its all working fine now!!
Custom maps WILL NOT Spawn u in when u are in "Terrain - LOW" Settings. U will just get dumped back into Windows with NO error message
hope this works for you guys... got this from the BF2 Editor Forum and it finally worked for me.... ME HAPPY LIL MONKEY!!!!!! "Doing tha Monkey DANCE" MAX :D :D :D
