Getting my 1st PS2 soon and need game suggestions. old and new games work for me since i haven't played a single ps2 game.
So far I have ordered MGS 2 and 3 and FFX and X-2.

GET MGS:2 Substance,MGS3 Snake Eater, and if you havent played it get MGS. or Twin snakes for Gamecube if you have one. and killzone

hmmm where to start. I say GTA Vice City or San Andreas. Also Splinter Cell Series is always good :D

i think SC Is best played on PC or Xbox because it looks like crap on GC and PS2

yes, backwards compatibility is your friend.

but seriously, I would recommend GTA Vice City (Haven't played SA yet), and as one guy said above, MGS games.

Devil May Cry and the WRC/Gran Turismo series I enjoyed the most, worth looking into.

Socom 2, killzone, Mercenaries, Mashed, MGS 2 & 3, GTA SA.

for 24 fans, 24: the game is out soon too.

Don't get Splinter Cell on ps2 at all, its not bad but so much faster, better looking, and one big mission rather loading every five seconds. get it on xbox

Get burnout 3. And maybe some sports/racing games like WRC, NHl 2005 or some football games if you got some friends who will play with you. And for fps games get those that are mentioned above and Timesplitters 2 or 3. Best game on ps2 that i've played is imho MGS 2. Very good and interesting story and loads of cool stuff in it. Man it's hard to try to get all the dogtags :D

Zone of Enders 1&2 ( fun, but very short)
Ratchet & clank (1,2,3)
Jack & dexter (1,2,3)
ICO is a very good game but read reviews first, cause there is a big chance you won't like it.
