I was wondering if EA will provide some kind of SDK to add ladders to mods and unlockables etc..., I fairly sure they wont, but as it is now community is very focused on stats etc.. and even if points are not the end of everything, knowing that you improve in accuracy etc.. etc.. is still quite cool.

I know they do prefer their own expension packs etc.. buts still it would be a great move for the community and help gather people around mods (and BF2)

or do any mod programmers plan to have their own stats servers and add something similar, though it could be fairly BW and CPU consumming for a team working for free

[Xfire] Xfyre: Ben: Will EA ever offer an "unofficial" and "official" Ranking system, so the public will be able to host ranked "unofficial" servers that keep the points separate from the official system?

[EA] DieFledermaus: Actually, we are looking at a number of things we can do in this arena

[EA] DieFledermaus: The main Ranked service will probably remain as it is, locked to a small # of partners who will run these servers alongside EA as we are doing now

[EA] DieFledermaus: at the same time, the python logging is moddable so that you could route the stats to a different web site or collect them specifically for a mod, or something similar

[EA] DieFledermaus: we're still looking at how to enable this for the community and don't have an estimate on release, however

I hope that answers your question on the ladders :)

:)
i think [EA]Fliedermaus just waits untill the community comes up with such a system.

and so.....
on request of the REALITYMOD DEV team, i created a Ranking world for servers with the PRMM minimod running.
This Ranking world is part of ABR short for Alternate Battlefield Ranking.

what you just asked, is already possible thru our system.
