Website Update

As many of you have noticed, we've been down most of the day. Well as you may or may not have noticed, we have upgraded to a new version of VBulletin, which includes many new features. However, with this upgrade, there has been a few complications, one of which is our news that will be down for a few days. Other than that, you should see a lot of changes and enhancements within the coming weeks. <br><br>
In regards to the forums, there will be a few problems here and there, and the avatars are all currently missing if you had hosted them on our server. We will attempt to retreive them.<br><br>
<b>Update: </b>Our forums have been fully upgraded, and are now available to be used. If you experience any more problems, feel free to <a href="http://www.totalbf2.com/forums/sendmessage.php">contact us</a>. We are currently working hard to get our main page back up, so stay tuned.<br><Br>
<b>Update 2: </b>It's been a hectic couple of days getting the forums setup and running properly, the same goes for our news. However, we're not out of the woods yet. We still have a few upgrades planned in the coming days, which will be for the better. You can expect a lot of new features that will benefit the community. Stay tuned.<br><br>

the avatars are still there, they are just not working cause all teh scripting is wrong in the style ^_^. Fix the style, you fix the problems. Ill work on it on my site and see what i can dig up.

A lot of the new features benefit the moderators rather than the users, but this in turn helps us to help you. One thing you will notice is that the "read posts" will be managed properly using fields in the database, rather than cookies and session timeouts.

I just can't grasp why a community site with a memberbase as large as this would risk running their forums on a beta release version (unstable).

Looks like sigs only show on old posts, any new posts don't show sigs :confused: .

RC2 is barely beta. If there are no bugs found within this release then the very same files get rebadged as the final version. The previous stable release of vBulletin is 3.0.8 - to get to 3.5RC2 is quite a few beta stages in between.

Same, BFC been at 3.0.5 because of all the CMPS crud and other h4x installed.

Regarding reputation comments, I think it would be nice if you knew who is say what about you. Right now it just has 'comments' but no 'who said it about you.'

I've been getting the message below off and on all day. You mentioned above about using a DB now to keep track of one's read status instead of using cookies, so I'm just wondering if this is a message I should get used to or is it just temporary growing pains? :p

I read the first post with the three updates, but I don't see what it says about sigs, or what I need to do with them.

Can I just set it up again?

It would be nice to add an update in the first post if that's the case, rather than the mods just continually pointing to 4 pages worth of posts.
