Is it worth your time?? That's the question I've asking myself as I work on my map. What is it in a BF2 map that makes you go WOW!! instead of go playing WoW?

So come on!!
Spill it out!!
What do you want in the maps you're playing??

I would personally like to see a map where the players need to utilise the boats alot more and not rely on helis etc.

I would like also to see a canyon type map to require expert flying skills in the planes. A gap to an area where you need to rotate the plane 90° to fit though drop your bombs and then rotate again to get out of that area.

Most people who I have asked have asked for more urban maps but it appears there are quite a few out already and when you look at the default urban maps that were created by Dice and EA they are very good already. I personally don't think I have enough experience to create one quite as complex.

*Edit* ATTENTION TO DETAIL IS WHAT MAKES ME GO WOW.

i want to see a map like this:

one side is defending a fortified location (pretty big one) with only a few entrance points! (like 3 choke points) which will make it extremely hard for the attacking side to breach.

goal is to take the control point on the top of a hill or something, (attackers base is defended against takeovers offcourse).

* the map should be very urbanic
* no vehicles except jeeps to the attackers and maybe 2 tanks and some jeeps to defenders (but since it's very urbanic, lots of small alleys allow for infantry hideouts)
* no artillery

I think this kind of map will force the attacking AND defending team to work together in squads utilizing the different classes WHILE also making both commanders work real hard for finding a spot to enter from etc.

add to that te final "hill takeover" scene should the attackers get to it... and you got a cinematic type map which will make people wanna play it alot of time.

Precisely what I'm working on now though don't hold out for any kind of release because I'm not that good! :)

Biggest problem at the moment is a lack of decent map size to be able to have large and long canyons, valleys and such. Planes tend to eat up distance a bit quickly... :cool:

It would be better if there was a game mode for this type of game play... only work around i can see is have 4 flags on the map (3 on one team and one on the other on the hill) and the three of the attacking team is uncapturable. Good idea though.
