@mesmericfien: please dont spam... But you may or may not find the editor hard, it depends on your learning curve. I managed to pick up the basics quite easy by reading through the tutorials, making the entire map may time time so you need patience. If you want screenshots look for my release thread of beta 1 of my map King Of The Hill as there is some in there.
@maranello: Please dont post that in every topic. the faq is designed for common questions to be answered. Meaning if someone makes a thread about something which is already covered in there all whats needed to be done is to post a link to the faq thread and the other thread locked. It is not designed for every person to post their problems in.. which it looks like your trying to do. Like in this case, whats the faq thread got to do with this? thats not helpful at all.

I don't think making a map is hard to do. it will only take awhile till the map is done.
The learning thing is ok..
Learned how to make terrain, hills, grass, place buildings, roads etc in a day or 2.
Now i gotta find out how to make water and more :P
Just download the EA tutorials, read them, and check these posts now and then.
have fun!

The basics are very easy compared to level editors of other games. Drag and drop and click on stuff to raise and lower etc.
The advanced stuff can/will be confusing at first but nothing too complicated.
ps. Map looks cool smeg :D

I spent a good few hours trying out various stuff before starting to make a map for real. Its easy to start placing stuff around and rushing to finish without paying any real attention to detail.

Like you guys were saying, it looks hard at first, but you will get the hang of it, after doing stuff with the editer, it will be so easy youll seem like a pro :)

The editor has quite a few settings you need to be aware of, takes some time to learn. Once you have the editor down, what I find hardest is to actually come up with a map that's fun to play and fun to look at. What I mean is that the placement of the buildings relative to eachother as well as the flag locations and landscape geography can seriously make or break your map. I find the design of the battlefield itself harder than learning how to use the editor :hmm:
