Hey guys, well i know alot of you always wanted to just fly around and have some intense dog fights, but couldnt without other people interfering. Well great news! Theres one coming out soon! Me and ListenToSlayer have been working on a map called Operation Sky High. This isnt your ordinary BF2 map. In this map there is no flag capping, just good ol' flying and crazy dog fights. For those people that are always in planes just having a good old time, well this is the map you'll love. Theres many obsticles and canyons to fly through, and huge wide open space. And heres the best part about it! THERE IS NO BOUNDARIES!!!! You can go as far out as you want, for as long as you want, and never die! In most maps the combat zone starts to take your life away when you go out to far at a certain limit. In this map you wont have to worry about none of that BS! The map should be out soon in a week or so. ScreenShots coming soon!

Sweet, that's an awesome idea... Not too sure about the unlimited boudaries thing, but an air-combat map is long overdue for BF2! If you need help testing it, lemme know... : )

Make sure that you dont get bombing runs, by that i mean that its easy to bomb the hell out or the air strips so the other team cant launch their planes so make it hard or impossible to do so.

yer, although the idear of a flying map sounds simple what the above post mentions means you will have to think hard about the level design.

i cant wait to see some ss. :)

the no boundries sounds kinda dumb you would never find anyone unless it was 32 on 32 with all fighters. make it so theres 2 islands and all ocean please plsea please and make the islands look pretty.

no, the editor is only there for show :rolleyes:

of course you can make a map in the editor... theres nothing stopping you :)

ok ive been thinking, i guess ill put the bounderies back on since yea you either might get lost or it'll take foreever to find someone. so ill put the out of bounds time to 1 minute, and the health wont go down by ten but ill make it by 5 so if 1 minute to get back to the map isnt enough that will help.

SS coming soon because we needa add the texture because im still adding huge tunnels and such for fun and practice. ive also made an invisible barrier so you wont have to worry about people bombing the air field. so dont attempt to do so, because you'll jsut look like an ***. also do not try to drive into the airfields because you will crash into the invisble barrier!

so for now, peace out.

Well you could not have any boundaires or make them very far out. Then to help people find their way you could use the land as markers, so have a big main island and then little ones to act as guides to help people find 'hotspots' where combat could take place.

NOOOO what on earth came over you, you were onto such a unique idea with the no boundaries. Id down load it if there were none. Dont listen to that fool who said you wont be able to find people, some of us use intruition on were they might be you know and i thought of another thing here.
Some clans are setting up fighter battalians and are always struggling to work on formations and so on and if they had unlimited space to fly they wouldnt have to keep turning every 7 seconds. Remember the psp or base tags never dissapear so you cant really get lost. This is a really good and useful idea to take away boundaries so go for it mate.

Carriers were made to hold 32 jets on each team! no boundaries :D

aww man I just saw that u want to put the boundaries back, how bout a seperate version of the map with no boundaries:D

why not do the scale 8 size map then put bonderies in, I mean I'm sure your doing 1024x2 do it 1024x8, just it has to be 100% water because textures get ****ed up

ummm, yeah this thread was created back in August of 2005 and Mr.Grims last update was august 21 2005.

I think its safe to assume that you won't be seeing any screenshots, or his map for that matter.
