you could make it better by ending most of those programs you got runnung, there loads, and background tasks.

IIRC, there's a memory leak in the editor. It doesn't clean up after itself properly, so you should never load a map more than once in any session. If you want to load a new map, quit the editor first.

That might be how you got such a large amount of memory usage?

nah, all i did was launch the editor and follow these steps

Uses about the same here. 2 gig of ram wouldn't hurt for this editor (and same goes with the game I hear).

You could deselect some modules from being loaded in Tools, Add-In Manager, to see if that helps. I found the editor to run a bit better after unloading modules I wasn't needing (everything except LevelEditor & TerrainEditor at the moment).
