i stutter like a b!tch. i am on cable internet and my ping ussally is like 60-100 but lately (past 2 weeks) i have been stuttering. my ping has jumped from 60 to 600 in a matter of seconds. in the past 2 days its been better, where i can play for 20-30 minutes before it stutters but sometimes it spikes and i go to 250 then back to 60. but just now i was going fro 60 to 170 to 240 to 555 then back to 170 and the same thing. its weird. i have read other posts on this forum and it seems to be a BF2 problem after the 1.02 patch that EA has yet to fix. is it a known problem? does EA know about it?? is it just me or is anyone fed up with EA shipping a buggy game and making it worse with patches.

this will probably get moved, but ill try to help anyways :p

clean your cache settings out for your BF2 junk in your 'my documents' folder. make sure your vid drivers are up to date and try turning some settings down in the video portion of your game options. lighting and shadow really take a hit on your fps in this game, as well as texture settings.

sorry, I didnt read your whole post before replying, I just read the stuttering part.

Have you tried to run 'tracert IP_Address_Here' from the windows command line and seeing if somewhere down the routing to the server you are trying to play on that you are running into problems?

If you are having those issues, be sure to copy and paste it somewhere for reference, cuz when you call your isp to ***** (if that is the problem), theyll want to know where the problems are.

They'll probably try to give you some **** that if the problem is not directly on their lines, they can't do anything about it. That is ********, just because the problem is on some other isps **** down the road, does not mean that they cannot call them and tell them that their customers are having problems and they want it fixed right away, they pay to have their **** running over other peoples lines.
