So many great mods.......but most are going to be modeling the same vehicles, weapons......etc etc etc. So why not have some cross-mod agreements? I mean like letting a specific mod use a specific vehicle/weapon from your mod, and so on and so on.

I know some people will say "but i like variety, etc etc" but if it is like this, mods will have more vehicles/weapons, and they can be released/created faster. Also, eventually the best model of that specific object will be the one that every mod wants to use (assuming mod A lets mod B use it).

Rising Conflicts, Red Crucible, and Desert Conflict (as well as others) will be using, for the most part, the exact same vehicles and weapons.... I've never really seen simultanous development of mods using the same vehicles....and i've been around since Wolf3d.

If nothing else, it would be nice to see at least those 3 mods i mentioned working together somewhat to push out some quality products....they have SOOO much in common.

Anyway......am i honestly the only one thinking this would be positive for all projects involved?

There's a sense of achievment in the team that would be lost if that happened. I personally love my mod team, i think we're all a nice bunch of guys and when we produce good work, we can really feel proud because it's our work. Essentially what you're suggesting is a huge community mod, which would be a whore to administrate, and there will always be people that feel they could do it better and will try to.

I hope there is a better sense of community between the mods, but I dont want every mod to be a mirror image of another except with different coding.

Rising conflicts and Desert Conflict are nothing alike :hmm:

Desert Conflict is a remake of the popular BF42 mod "desert combat" and is set durring the wars in Iraq.

Rising Conflicts is set in the future (2028) and has very little in common with Desert Conflict. Out of the renders released so far I don't see anything in common between the two.

I don't see a problem with similar moda merging. For example Rising Conflicts, BF2020, and Battle for Suppremecy have merged.
However having all of the teams use the same models would leave very little diversity.

we here at rising conflicts are always up for helping other mods if we can.

The reason bf2020 and BFS have joined us is to ensure we make the best quality mod we can.. instead of competing we are working together.

red crucible is a 1980's mod and desert conflict is a gulf war 1 mod they will not have what we are going to have. so a sharing of models really wouldn't be beneficial to either of us..

I might consider trading for 1 or 2 models but I think it's better if mods make their own stuff, simply for the sake of originality.

There are other reasons, but for one, some mods consider some other mods to not have the quality that the former mods have...

You know, those mods. Over there. With the shady eyes.
