Today, the Official <a href="http://www.eagames.com/official/battlefield/battlefield2/us/editorial.jsp?src=communityupdate_081905">Battlefield 2</a> website has been updated with some good and bad news. The good news is that EA is planning to add another 300 Ranked servers to their list. The bad news is that the 1.03 patch won't be ready this month.

All things considered BF2 is less buggy then BF1942 was when it was first released.

remember the last patch for BF2...we needed another patch to fix the patch.

I'd prefer to see it done properly, rather than rushed. Isn't it just the way though; people complain that the game is shot to ****, and the updates are no better. Yet, when they admit they'd prefer to set the release date back to make sure they've done as much as they can, you question it.

Very, very disappointed. A multitude of those fixes they mentioned in that rather nice looking list (although I don't expect it to be as good as it looked when the thing finally comes out sometime in Feb. of '06) were a bunch of simple tweaks that probably wouldn't take anymore than 5 minutes to correct in the Bf2 code if they had any idea what they were looking for.

The editting tools were supposed to come out days before the release and missed that by a long shot, the game releases with a couple bugs that weren't even present in the demo, a delayed patch needs a patch to fix it, and now it's just another waiting game that'll probably last another month. It's just terrible, especially with half-done code in the game for favorites, a line to set the color of buddy nametags, server history, etc. Terrible service, rushed game...I can't see how people still have faith in EA. My faith will have to be re-gained, and that's earned by performance, not words of saying they will make their best effort or people trying to persuade me otherwise. Just my 2 cents worth on the delay...

most the time when we logg in it shows most if not all servers full any way even if u have filtered out full servers IT STILL SHOWS FULL SERVER! EA GET A GRIP!

theres one major let down i would change,

this should be every kill u get even b4 the proper game begins u get the kill points an stats as there still on a ranked server.
this should be because theres a server that i always use an alot of different nationality players go in there,
so the times are always diff when its full,
then we get the game will start message.
i just think its a better idea if its ranked an its not full but we still get kills an points that we get em.

If there is such a thing as Battlefield 3, I MIGHT consider it, and that's if EA's performance is actually worthwhile between now and BF3. Some of you people are truly stupid. You're whining that DICE is delaying the patch, but if they went ahead and released it by the end of August anyway, you'd be the FIRST ONES in line to ***** about how it isn't everything that they promised and how there are still bugs.

Quit being a bunch of stupid entitlement bitches and either play the game and enjoy it how it is while waiting patiently for a patch to fix things that you don't like, or shut up and go find another game.

I understand that the developers would care to keep their community happy, therefore releasing patch after patch to make its people happy...but seriously, do people actually think EA itself actually gives a damn? I dunno, I'm very conscious and confident of the fact that companies as large as EA can get away with almost anything, and still reel in the sales. Why? Because that's what they are good at. Here are some other examples:

- Battle for Middle Earth
- NHL 200x series, since 2001
- World War 2 (yes, they were the ones that started it)
- World War 3 (they are starting it right now)
- Intergalactic Trade War (yes, they will eventually begin this war, approx. 600yrs from now)

So, as you can clearly see, they release buggy games before they should be released, and in turn, makes the community very upset. Because really, who wants to play a crappy game that will eventually bring on war and famine? Oh wait, I do. I guess that's why I forked over my money to EA.

While I totally agree that I'd rather wait for a solid, well-made patch than get a rushed and buggy patch, I still am entirely pissed about the in-game browser. Why would you have a list full of filters that don't work? The main substance of the game is it's multiplayer side and they push it out with a browser that barely works? I've been one of the people in here saying that everyone should relax and quit nitpicking on the game but this is one thing that I think is inexcusable. If this patch COMPLETELY fixes the in-game browser, I'll be satisfied. But it should have been working to begin with... I've been a big fan of EA for years. But lately they are making decisions that make me question my loyalty. Between the shotty interface for BF2 and the gigantic turd of a game that Madden has become, I'm losing my faith... C'mon EA, make me a believer... Throw some more cash into development instead of buying exclusive licensing rights and flashy advertising...

In fact the support was lousy. They released a so call MDT after so many years and petitions from the community. Even then it was a lousy program that didn't help with anything that couldn't or wasn't done by the modders. And that was only to attract people for their BFV. Guess what? Who cares that BFV was done by a different company? They carried the name "DICE" published by "EA", so thats all that counts. If they suck at making games they shouldn't have been part of DICE.

Wow, i played the demo and had BETTER results with it. I CANT EVEN PLAY BF2 WITHOUT STUTTERING, i got 2 gigs, and a radeon x850xt PE no spyware/malware, a 2.8 ghz proc and I even went through about 10 exchanges with ea tech support getting numerous "solutions" and got THIS:

I'm sorry, but it seems we have exhausted all the options here. I'm sorry we could not get your game working.

If you wish to return the game, here is your warranty information:

More then likely the store you bought it at will not accept the return because the box has been opened. In this case, you can send the game back to our Warranty department and we will give you a sealed copy of the game so that the store will accept the return."
