Creative Sound Blaster Cards..Do this cards really make a difference?

I'm upgrading my rig and I was thinking of buying one of this creative whatever cards. I have a 2.1 speaker system and plan on leaving it that way. Do this creative cards make a difference on the sound quality? or should I just keep using my motherboard sound? if yes, recommend me a 2.1 card, since those audigy 2 whatever cards are for 7.1 systems...thanks for the info guys...this forums rock.

A 7.1 card will work, and yes they make a diffrence.

Audigy2 ZS is where it's at.
Just because you don't have a 7.1 setup does not mean that the card is useless for you.
The increased channels and dedicated hardware processing power means that the card does all the sound processing leaving the CPU to get on with churning out the BF2 frames.
