Battleground Europe is the re-release of the MMO World War Two Online. They are re-releasing to get a bigger base of people with in the game and to change the image of the "Old WWIIOL" which is now gone with the new patch in game and the future patches coming in. It is a great game, and it's a lot of fun. The community is very mature and there is a lot of teamwork involved especially if you are in a squad. WWIIOL also has a unique system where the PLAYERS manage the armys. It is not controlled by the game managers, players have their own high command and they place orders, and other players chose if they want to follow or not. It is very organized and things get done everyday. Offensives are made on the ground assaulting a large front taking multiple towns in a short period of time, or 100+ aircraft bombing raides are created smashing the enemy factories to rubble.

I mostly play as a Generalmajor in the German Luftwaffe and I am the member of the high command, when I play Heer I am a senior NCO in game and usually lead attacks on towns during late at night. Alaex just started playing and he plays both Heer and Luftwaffe. (He is a Private in Heer and recruit in the Luftwaffe).

Bump because this went under the radar because the server was busy. If you want to play a real virtual battlefield game then play this, no noob42 and Balanced BF2.

Thanks for the bump. I have a few friends who play the old wwiiol and they seemed to swear by it. Unfortunately i think myself, as well as a lot of the community, is burnt out on WWII games. It's just been beat to death the last 3 years or so.

Now.......a WWIII online game, with the graphics that game appears to have....would be very interesting indeed. Perhaps a Red Crucible type game like that. I'd play that to no end. You also don't have to rely on facts (such as that game not having america early on, etc etc) with a WWIII mpog because it never happened.

Just my 2 cents

I use to own the original WWII Online but they messed up my account so I just stopped playing. It was really confusing and very boring if you have no one to play with.
