Maybe but every card has to update drivers. go to ati's homepage and get new drivers if you haven't already.

If this file is missing, it's mostly caused by an old DirectX installation. You need the latest update (9.0c) of DirectX, which is located on the Battlefield disk at Z:\directx\dxsetup.exe (replace Z). Install it, reboot and it should work.
Sometimes, caused by distortion of the time line, alies or whatever, this file is not installed even if you have the latest DirectX update. Even if it's generally not a good idea to mix up dlls, you can even download that file (and others) here:
http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?d3dx9_25
Download it, put in in your %WINDIR%\System32\ directory and bf2 should run.
p.s.: don't reinstall directx before you tried my trick. I had the same problem on an other pc and could solve it this way. If you don't know how to uninstall / revert your DirectX installation you could really break your system.
