Why does EA release screens with less than highest quality settings on? The textures look like crap, and there's little or no AA. They did that with BF2, too...odd. Ex: look at the newest batch of screens in the screenshot section on the official BF2 website. It's on like low detail and it looks awful..

Personally, I don't fall for the screenshots anymore. Remember the screenies for BF2, they looked nothing like the game. For starters, some moron down in the art department played with everything trying to make it look "fun", but it ends up looking like a crappy comic book. I'm sure the game will look better...but what about the patch?

At least these look closer to the real thing than the last set of screenshots. I'm still not convinced as this expansion was way over-hyped from about...3 seconds after they told us about it.

We still aren't getting the patch support we deserve, we still aren't getting updates to the mod tools that were also late, and all of this I honestly believe is because EA is focusing more of their team on this rip-off of an expansion pack. I agree, this looks like a ripoff of James Bond or something, not something that should be part of the Battlefield series. I'm starting to think this doesn't even really deserve the Battlefield title, because about the only thing that I see that should be in there is the civilian vehicles (which we SHOULD have had in the original, but apparently they wanted to charge us more money to get them since they removed them from the final release of the game), the Apache (Whereever it is) and the Hind. The rest is just a bunch of fancy stuff you see in Hollywood and EA is trying to cash in on it. Yeah, the forces portrayed exist, but I still see nothing but a bunch of over-hyped stuff, not what a real "special force", if that's what they want to call it, would be involved in.

the crossbow, i dont believe is what you think it is. Meaning i doubt its an actual weapon, its how you shoot the grappling hook. Not shoot arrows at people.
The gas mask: Yes, there is poison gas, and tear gas, within the game now. (special forces)
JetSki's .....and quads........ = fun.
Remember guys, this expack is geared for infantry type battles. Hence infantry type vehicals. IE: jet ski's grappling hooks, and quads. Yes there are a few new things such as apaches.......but primarily this geared towards infantry.
I cant wait for this, as I think it'll bring alot of "fun" to the game. As it is now, whats primarily the most fun maps? Arguably its the city type maps. Why? Infantry based. Thats why. Nothing sucks more then having a 5 bomb spam fest SU drop a payload and interupt a damn good squad versus squad battle. Seriously.
I got a feeling the only people to not like this will be your hardcore pilots and tankers.

I bought Road to Rome, i loved it, thought it was great, new maps, tanks, airplanes, new dynamics.
Problem was: NOBODY ELSE PLAYED IT, sure there were servers for a few weeks, after a month, couldnt find anything worth playing.
And Secret Weapons? did ANYBODY buy that?

- im sick of waiting for a patch
- im bored of playing on these maps
- and yes.. i think the whole damn thing jets skies and zip lines is just silly

i see not only ordinary graphics but exactly same buildings from BF2 (buildings in 16 masturr city US base and 4 storey buildings on streets of karkand

jet skii won't be fun unless you got a few others riding with you or you get targets to shoot and do stunts

I'm 22 and a newly enlisted military man. From what I've seen thus far the expansion looks like what I would expect from that 'other' Dice developer. The game doesn't need to be Rainbow 6 realistic (that statement is debatable I know) but come on, what we have now is laughable, silly fantasy. If you're going to make it fantasy then go all the way and make it something completely different and at least interesting. Like many others, my support will be behind the mod community rather than this pathetic attempt at receiving more cash.

I like the variety they are adding to the game. I still think I will rather play COD 2 than this, if it's going to be mainly infantry based.

Once again, to the fool that thinks infantry maps are what the majority of people want, why would EA/DICE release a game named Battlefield, with the expectance of driving and flying large BATTLEFIELDS....

I won't get it, it looks more like a stupid action game than a battlefield game. I'm not that interested in modern combat in the first place (too fast paced, repetitive and boring especially when it's as arcade as BF2) but this exotic expansion will make it even more silly.

Because game will feature tear gas bombs and wearing gas mask can protect you from it but it will limit your viewing field.

firstly, for the people coimplaining about graphics, why do the grpahics look crap? because their on medium or low settings, not every one who works on the game has top computers that can run it all on high. and secondly their showing off what the game looks like in medium or low settings. they did the EXACT same thing with BF2. they release low detail screenshots and every one cries about it when in reality their own computers cant even run it at high (not talking about everyone)

how do you get this impression from these screenshots? these are no different than early screenshots from BF2.

its still early days this expansion isnt due out till late november, and they may even delay it for further production. everyone is always quick to assume things just from screenshots. it happened with Bf2, people didnt like what they saw in half the screenshots but look at how many people bought the game

I haven't seen anywhere that there will be new weapons to unlock, maybe. But there will surely be some new weapons to shoot from.

No one ever talked about ranking system in Special Forces and I think it will be unified with the already existing system cause Special Forces will be add on to the original game so it will probably mean that you will need to have original BF2 installed on your computer.

I personally think SF has the player models kinda good.. everything else, bullcrap... jetskis? AWESOME... for a nice day on a beach with semi rough surf. they need rubber, very silent boats... they need to add the old damn sniper back, they need to add trees we are able to get around, instead of having an invisible wall between them to have a nicer snipe spot, they need stealth fighters... I think they should have something like the 2 seater jets where you have the screen except the screen will not be used to shoot but should have night vision and be used to help scan areas... helicopters? WTF take them out this is NOT vanilla bf 2 this is SF.. wtf EA, dorks, I am only 12 and know there would not be chopper whoring in situations in that, especially since units like the US SF would be more based on stealth then... OK OK BRING OUT TEH JETS, TEH CHOPPAS, TEH TANKS, AND TEH M203's WE WILL ALL DIE BUT PWN....
I think there should not really be tear gas... you know how much this stuff will be used? it will be whored SO BAD some people wont have a monitor since they will throw it at the wall..... you guys think you could slip past unoticed using a zip line? I think that would be a bit hard to not see... and especially hear... and since most ppl will be using nightvision, it'll be hard not to be seen everywhere you go... ah well had to get all of that outta my chest :P In conclusion... I will not buy.............................. some other game for 30 bucks, I will most likely buy this XD

Too much emphasis on stealth imo. New armies are cool but I'm unsure about all this night vision and zip lines. Looks too much like splinter cell. I'll wait and see the finished version and read the reveiws before I buy it.
