hey,

here are the things i have try to fix my voip problem. I use a m-audio sound card and had my mic hook up through it, i got sound that from my mic on the game option menu but when i'm in a game with battlecomm and in a squard it will show that i am transfering but they can't hear me and i can't hear them. I have tryed 3 types of mics one usb and 2 wired ones and get the same problem. I've also tryed my onboard sound card and it does the same. I got a router so if its that what ports would i need to set up if that will make it work. Let me know

Is this on every server you have tried? Some VoIP enabled servers don't actually have working VoIP - you get the symptoms you described.

Alternatively, is your "Enable VoIP" box getting unticked in your sound options? That is, you set up the mic and levels in the game options, but when you come back the "enable" checkbox has been cleared. This happens usually when running AC97 onboard sound, but the same problem may be happening with your PCI sound card.
In this case, people have reported to solve the problem by running "dxdiag" (Start->Run...->dxdiag) and changing their sound acceleration level down.

Otherwise, see if you can borrow someones old Sound Blaster Live card and give that a go.

Good Luck.

THe issue I have is I'll have the mic enabled (X-fi card) before I launch the game. I can hear myself in my headphones. Then when I launch the game, it mutes the mic! I have to alt tab out of the game and uncheck the mute box. I had onboard sound before, but uninstaled the drivers first and have it disabled in the bios. This just seems like a bug or something because it did it before when I was using a USB headset, it was just easier with the headset because it has a button for unmuting.

Really annoying issue.
