no probably not just get a desktop becuz gaming laptops usually cost 2 to 3 times as much as a desktop. and if desktops arent for u get ready to spend upwards of around 2000$

I have the same card in my Dell inspiron lap top and it works great, however I would get at least 1 GIG of ram.

I bought my step son a laptop from WIDOWPC.com 3.6 pentium with nvidia 6800. He seems to love it, and plays BF2 all the time. Get at least 2 gig RAM

Don't play games on your laptop during class - it's annoying as all hell to the people around you. Whether or not your teacher knows jack or otherwise, it is incredibly distracting and you're going to interfere with other people's learning. Not everybody is adept at web design as you are.

You may want to wait until the 7800 go comes out on thursday to see if Dell will be changing models for the 9300 line, but I play BF2 on a Dell inspiron 9300 with the 6800go 256mb and it is SWEET! I paid about 1500 for mine, but I have pretty much everything (1900x1200 screen, 2ghz cpu, 2gb ram, 100gb 5400rpm hd, dual layer dvd burner, xp pro, a/b/g wireless, bluetooth, etc)
Most of that stuff you really won't need for playing BF2. Sub-$1000, I don't know but you may get close at the outlet.

Buy the Inspiron 9300 and get the lowest specs, only put money into the processor if anything buy a 80whr battery, and a XPS power Brick. Then buy a 7800 GTX video card like I did for my i9300 and you'll be able to play BF2 with the best of them, at half the price. Yeah that's right I can mod a i9300 to be = to a XPS for about 1000 dollars less. Thing is I won't have the Flashly lights of an XPS, the video card only runs for 400 dollars which isn't bad at all. I sold my xbox and all my games to come up with the money for that card and popped in to my i9300. And I get over 100 FPS on BF2 with everything on high.
