OK, i just baught BF2, altough i have played it before. When I open BF2 it shows me the beginning (EA Games, Dice, and the sattelite cinematic thing) than, after that even if I skip the movie, the screen just goes black, to a lighter shade of black, thab back and forth, than eventually just minimizes and it says: VPU Error Report: ATI... I dont know what it says but than I click on 'Dont Send' and the process is just repeated over and over, until I close it by Ctrl + Alt + Delete. Ya, so if anyone could help me fix this it would be awesome, i have already DL'ed the BF2 Patch 1.02.

What graphics card do you have? BF2 does not support DirectX 8 or onboard sound cards.

Yes...I know this one.
You have to make sure AGP 4X is enabled in your BIOS.
If it isn't, you may have to update your motherboard drivers. I did this for a friend and it fixed the same problem on his 9200SE like a charm.

sorry but this is ur real problem: the ati radeon 9200 series do not support bf2. so said ea.i read it on some guys link on one of my threads. it showed all the cards that can support bf2 and said that if urs aint wats there, bf2 might not run well or at all. i think its just the 9200 thats not supported, even the 8900 is. my friend has the same video card as u, and i guess u two run outa luck.
ps: this message is not for the one i quoted for, its just that i click on the quote of the last person that replied to a thread usually.so dont feel offended.

Hey, lol, im not excatly really good with these things, im kinda dumb, your gonna need to give me a step-by-step. I would REALLY apperciate the help!!! Ya, so, i tried re-installing it, lol, that didnt work, the exact same thing. Ya so, i think that, that last post would help, if you could just give me step-by-step, that would be better, I dont understand that BIOS, AGP, stuff, LOL.

The 9200SE is an unsupported card. Buy a new graphics card then it will work. If you're on a budget the 6600GT or 6800 are good choices. List the rest of your system specs so i can help you more...like processor and RAM and stuff like that..

Here is what i think what you wanted me to do, so i went ahead and did it, this is a step-by-step of what I did:
Went into the Control Panel
Went into System
Click on the Hardware tab
Went into device manager
Went into Display Adapters
Updated both things that were in there, only 1 of them had a hardware upgrade, but even after that it still didnt work
Went into System Devices
Looked for an update in everything in there, there was no better hardware upgrades found
I looked through everything else under the device manager that looked like it could help, and... NOTHING lolYa, so, if there was something else you wanted me to do, or, i was completely wrong about what you meant, surpruse, surprise, lol i am not very good at these things. LOL.
And If it comes down to the fact that I have to get a new video card, so be it, I think that i will get a ATI Radeon 9800 Pro. If this is a bad idea, or anyone thinks that I should get a different type of video card, please feel free to suggest a better one. As long as i can get it for under $120.00.
Im only 14, lol.

ok umm..i think you were trying to update your drivers..so what exactly do you want to do? To play battlefield 2, you must buy a new graphics card. There are a few cheap and good ones out there which i mentioned above..6600GT and 6800NU. These cards would probably let you play medium-high..
The 9800PRO is gonna be outdated next year, but the 6600GT wont, yet the price difference is so minimal. In my opinion, i would highly recommend a 6800 AGP (if you have an AGP slot) since you can unlock the extra pipelines and overclock it to 6800GT speeds which is FAST. However if you dont have an AGP slot, you would have to buy a new motherboard, which could probably cost $100 for a decent one.
Do some research on graphics cards and hardware, youll learn alot.

Hey, do know if there is a way to tell if i have an AGP slot. Although i am pretty sure that i do because under System Devices there is something that say ...... AGP1.0../AGP2.0..... (... = other info) and ya. Or i guess you could just tell me what an AGP slot looks like and i could look for it on the back of the tower. Ya, so, thanks, although i dunno what Video Card im gonna get, i think i might stay with the 9800 Pro because i already have an ATI and my friend has one, and if i get an ATI i wont have to install new software and stuff. If you still think that this is a bad idea, i guess ill get what you recommended.
