my first tries at learning to mod for BF2

ok so I am gathering that I change the files in the zip files in /mods/bf2

once I change those files to what I want, and rezip them, and put them in their own mod folder, how do I run said mod?

I can't find anything about this in the BF2 shortcut, or in game, so I am kinda at a loss

once in game click community>custom games>click the game you want>click activate
