More completely unimpressive shots of the $pecial Forces mod. That tank looks.....mediocre at best? And the guy in the truck is going to get nailed in the face if he tries firing they thing and they hit a bump, he just looks stupid.

I would have said its a disgrace that EA are releasing an expansion pack while the original game still has so manu bugs, but knowing all they care about is money, that would be pretty pointless.

What bugs? The game works fine by me.....its a little resource intensive with memory but I never have problems.

Nowadays we all expect breathtaking excellence on screen. That's why we buy the damned expensive graphic cards your games demand.

Screenshots won't sell the expansions. Teamplay might. But then again if the teamplay & scoring system is like BF2 then I for one won't be buying it. How's about a little more info on how the game plays? Is it a singleplayer slugfest or does it require mutually supportive gaming (teamplay) to achieve the objectives?

Fix up BF2 first & stop trying to sucker us with screenshots. We expect it to look good & for sure it will.

But u have to realise that looking good is no longer 'the selling point'. It's merely a requirement.

It's all about 'clans' & 'teamplay' now. Think along those lines & stop trying to steer us away from that concept so that u can get them off the shelves faster. We want teamplaying games so that we can make teams & play in ladders etc. So we can get a bit of entertainment out of a game. So that we don't have to keep shelling out for a new product every few months or so!

Don't go thinking u can make another million with another half hearted early release.:evil:Wise up.:evil:

The current release date is less than 30 days away and we still have several major bugs in BF2 ID bug browser issues etc etc.

I hope they get their act together soon or SF will not be on alot of people's systems.

EA won't have my 20-30€ for this expansion, becouse there is coming so many awesome mods (FH2, PoE2, etc etc), what pwns this ratass add-on.

And yeah, we can tell someone else other than EA took these screenshots because they're not photoshop'ed to try and hype it more. :p

Guys you really need to mellow out. I'm really tired of hearing the game is buggy. It is fine. The reason it may seem buggy to you is because your PC sucks or you are just dumb. These shots where taking on low graphics settings. The game itself will look awesome. As for mods I agree they will be great but they lack the SF qualities. POE, Desert Conflict etc. great mods experienced teams but they are not making destroyable glass, zip lines, night vision, tear gas, flash bang grenades. So if you are going to complain think about that first. I will admit these screens blow because the testers have ****ty PCs and are playing on low. I have to say I'm going to buy it because it looks cool. Not the screens the movies. Actual gameplay showing off new stuff. No bugs, no lag and no complainers. I really think there are way to many people who just complain. If you think that EA is trying to get your money you are right. Have you but a game before they have your money. What about food you like food right I bet that just appeared in your fridge. And when you wake up to go to work do you think that somebody made your shirt just for you so that you could be happy. So everything is a money grab. But I think that EA does care. Everyone is all complaining about stuff and EA could have flipped us all the bird and moved on. But instead they made the patch 1.03 Oh and they fixed everything that is wrong in my opinion. And just to make us even more happy they decide to throw in a nice coastal map that we can play. So before you complain about the expanation think. Think about the circumstances. Crap PC. Uneventful shots. Not exciting stuff. This isn't the game. Think of that as somebody taking a shot of a dude in a hummer sitting in dragon valley. That is not BF2. BF2 has something for everyone. Jets, Helos, Infantry, Boats. If you have read this far into my post you would no that I love the game that this website is dedicated to. And if you don't frankly I think you should go onto the forums of some other crappy game such as Counter Strike with its wonderful pixelated ****tyness and complain about it there. I'm sure we wont miss you.

Those screens have to be on the ABSOLUTE lowest settings
available, so I'm sure the 'High settings' image quality will be close
enough to BF2's. Not too worried.

I find it hard to believe that all these groupies saying they

I give them, say, a week for them to eat their words and buy the damn thing.

Oh, so they fixed everything with 1.03, have they? Well then, I must have downloaded a corrupt file, since the server browser is still terrible (agonizingly slow, caused the game to freeze entirely just yesterday), the IFF system isn't always working, missiles still go *through* vehicles when shot from point blank (or very close to that) and the TK allocation system is still broken.

BUT MAYBE ITS JUST MY CRAPPY PC, YES???

Guys, EA is not stupid. This is all smart on their end. Release mediocre stuff and let it be released. Then release a kick *** movie weeks before the game is released and everyone will swoon with anticipation and voila! Everyone buys it. I for one am going to. Dice does fine work and I have never been let down by them so I support them. Even if we only play SF for 6 months, we still win for 40 bucks! and mods win too because they will use the zip lines, tear gas and flash bang coding in their mods which we get for free!!!!! So ya see support the xpansion packs cause its good for the modding community too. Also have to agree that most bugs are the result of the user not the game. Aside from a couple of bugs- none wich are life threatning- game runs fine for me.

First off, paragraphs are your friend. Use them.

Now, you say everyone complaining has crappy PC's. That's why people have spent in upwards of $1000 to upgrade their computers to the highest specs possible, and STILL have problems? Quite frankly, I think these screenshots are what 90% of the people are going to be seeing as they probably ran these on your normal, gaming PC. Not some super computer EA uses to take screenshots and then photoshops them to go the extra mile.

Those features you say that mods won't include, that's just sad. Those objects could all be done with the current game engine without extra coding from EA, and I've seen a minimod already with a flashbang. It's all simple to do, but do you want to pay $30 for a mediocre job, or be able to get a free, fully-supported mod for free that will have 10x the gaming experience?

And the theme of your massive text block is to "think". I tried looking at it your way, but then when I see the features and the way the game looks, I just can't lie my way past how shallow the Special Forces mod is. The game currently isn't fixed, it still lags, and Special Forces will be no different. The only difference is the people with some common sense will be playing mods, and the lemmings will be on Special Forces for about a month and then realise everyone is playing mods and either go there or drop the game.

Sorry for my paragraphs or lack there of I got carried away with what was supposed to be a short post. Anyway I have to say the game isn't totally flawless but its not buggy. If you think about it something that isn't totally perfect isn't buggy. Anyway I don't know why some people don't turn their graphics up high. I have my graphics absolutely cranked full everything. High everything, 6x AA, largest res and my PC was not a billion dollars. I have a 2.8Ghz, GB ram, ATI Radeon x700 PRO, integrated sound. Full everything and no lag. I think some people should just try cranking everything.

On the subject of complaining or my PR crap (thanks for that buddy) I realize some people may not be totally thrilled with the quality of the screenshots and say thats what the game looks like is wrong. The screenshots I have taken in battlerecorder kick the **** outta EA's "doctored shots" which is definitely a false accusation. I mean opening photoshop and doing a quick fix doesn't add ****. And as someone mentioned above we could finally get our fast roping black hawks. Think of the mods we will get...

And if I get flamed for my beliefs then I think it would be time to bring in the arguing online is like the special Olympics pic.

I just wish that the DICE/Canada Dev team would have made BF2:SF more believable in terms of real Special Warfare, rather than give me goofy gizmos from a James Bond movie, give me something that I can believe. If some ppl believe that BF2 is way too "arcady" , just wait 'til this is released.

I would have rather had:better maps, new static messhes for the maps (no recycling)no goofy gizmos (except for Night Vision, and FlashBangs which aren't goofy) a few new weapons, decreased bullet spread, a few new skins and Units, no bunny hopping, no "insta proning", fast roping, a few new vehicles, more Radio Voice Comm choices (for Sqaud Leaders and members), binoculars, faster, less glitchy server browser, and more urban maps.
I will still buy it, but I am pretty sure that it will get that cheap, overused, campy feel much quicker than I would like.
I am not angry at them, I am happy ther is an expansion coming out, just a little too soon. Way too soon.
I believe that EA/DICE do care about the community. It's just that they want to be careful how drastically they might affect gameplay. Look at NovaLogic, they made a patch for Joint Operations that for some ppl say they "killed" the gameplay and the game. Now a lot of people really hate, NovaLogic. DICE want to be careful, I believe.

I just am a little confused and annoyed that ,one, the expansion is just a little too goofy, and not as believable (when I think of Special Forces I don't think of ziplines and JetSkis), and, two, IMHO it is way too early to release an expansion, especially when there are distinct issues needed to be resolved in BF2.

See now that is a mod I would pay for, something that is totaly different.

I have yet to see anything mentioned about this expansion pack that would make it more than a half decent mod. I think a lot people are overly negative about this because of how fast they decide to release it, it is obvious that EA wanted something for the Christmas season and this wasn't going to take a lot of effort on their part to make.

I was worried about a split in the compition community so early after the games release, but it seems that there will not be a mass of people wanting to move over and play the expansion exclusivly.

Are they going to change the weapons at all?
I hate the MEC spec ops gun and i would like to have it changed to a more realistic mini-AK like the militia leader has in Black Hawk Down. Other than that i have no complaints for a 30$ little expansion pack and i agree with Death Touch completly about the realism. My dad is a Ranger and he laughed when i told him the spec ops expansion pack had zip lines and jet skis.
