Put them in c/programfiles/THQ/companyofheroes/WW2/data/scenarios/MP and put the downloaded maps in there , and also you need to modify your exe. to play them , so you find the coh exe. , right click/properties and in the target line place ' -dev ' at the end of it and you are good to go ! you can start normal(vanilla) CoH from your start menu .

You can always make a backup of your files just by copy and pasting the CoH folder on your c/ drive , but it does indeed sound quite complicated , but i am probably making it sounds more complicated than it is :p its kinda just like bf2 maps , you just download then drag them into the levels folder , but remember to modify the exe. to be honest that is the only thing worth backing up , but there is 2 exe.'s as there is a desktop one and one on your start menu so you just use the start menu one for normal CoH .

To backup your saves, just make a copy of the THQ folder, save it to desktop and give it a different name like "THQbackup"

If you download a .sga versioon of the map you just put it in C:\Users\NAME\Documents\My Games\Company of Heroes\WW2\Scenarios and you dont have to worry about the -dev.
The downside is that all the loading/menu pictures will all be missing.

The 2nd poster's way isn't that complicated. Just follow these detailed instructions. It all just making new empty files and adding -dev and the end of a line.

Folder Hijinks
Find your Company of Heroes install folder. The default location is C:>Program Files>THQ>Company of Heroes
Go into the WW2>Data folder and make a new folder called Scenarios
Go into the Scenarios folder you just made and make a new folder called mp
This new mp folder is where all your custom maps go

Shortcut Chicanery
Find the Company of Heroes shortcut you use to launch the game. Right-click on it and select Properties
There is a box called Target that's filled with this: "C:>WhateverYourInstallPathIs>RelicCOH.exe"
Change it to this: "C:>WhateverYourInstallPathIs>RelicCOH.exe" -dev
Make sure that those quotes are there!
