DirectX 10

I have DirectX 9.0c or something like that at home. Can i download Directx 10 and should I? Will it make any difference or will it not affect my games? Does Directx 10 work with all games? Thanks for your help! :)

I'm pretty sure you need Vista for DX10 and if you have Vista then you allready have DX10.

You need Vista and a 8xxx card from Nvidia to run Dx10 :)

I think they are releasing a DX10 update for the game, not sure though.

DX10, wow the graphics look so different then DX9.

However, I heard BF2 and some other games dont work on Vista, so thats why Im not getting it.

I've heard mixed reports on the functionality of Vista with bf2/2142. I can run both without any problems on my vista rig, except that I have to use onboard sound. Incompatability with sound cards is a major issue for vista, as you can tell by glancing at Creative's message boards. The issue doesn't apply to all games, however. For instance, I can run GRAW just fine with my sound card activated.

I haven't tried running CoH with my sound card yet, but it runs like a dream on my vista rig. 8800 GTX is my video card.

nice, i can upgrade to vista cause all my games are compatible but i just need to wait for some DX10 games to come out so i can determine the upgrades i need

Make sure you get plenty of RAM, vista is a resource hog.

Yer, i dont really see the point of putting DX10 in CoH, you will never really see the full awesomeness of it in CoH.

i have vista and a 8800gts 640ram 500gig hard drive vista takes up about 40gig of space,so ya get a big hard drive,by the way i play coh,bf2,bf2sf,bf2142 vista runs them like a dream:D:D.been play the beta of world in confilet,run great.:):)

Just got my new rig, nothing special, but a step up. I have a 8500GT 2GB of Ram Q6600 processor. I know the graphics card isn't the greatest, but I couldn't beat the price of the system for the processor, and a 24" HD LCD Monitor. I'll have to hook it up soon.

that graphics card leaves nothing to the imagination but the rest is monster! i envy you, except the graphics :P

man, you need a decent one as well to pump the sex pixels in the 24" HS LCD

hi about 45to55 fps.1640x1240 i think.22in widescreen.dx10 runs like crap.use dx9 everthing on the highest settings.

yeah, i think it is better to run everything in DX9, even when you have a DX10 card. its just not worth losing so much frame rates for so little added detail

New rig has a 8500GT card. 2GB RAM and a Q6600. So I'll try DX10, and then go DX9 and get an insane amount of frames, hopefully.

With no AA, Ultra Quality, and Trilinear settings, I can get 20.7 FPS on FSX, which is not too shabby imo.
