What online mode do you prefer?

I usually play 2v2 games... I have tried 4v4 but it wasnt much teamwork involved so i got kinda put off. 1v1 is fun too but 2v2 is a big favourite.. ;)

I like to play 2v2 the most with a friend. Seems less "crazy" with only two people per side.

2v2, i agree with Dan, anything over that is far to insane.

I like 3v3, or 2v2, 4v4 is too hectic, a 4v4 map with 3v3 or 2v2 is awesome!

Thats the word i was looking for! :) Crazy! I agree with you! More than 4 players on the map and it just goes crazy and it kinda kills most of your tactical posibilities...

1v1. In teamgames imbalance becomes more apparent.

In a 1v1, howitzers are very powerful but very risky. In teamgames the risk vastly decreases while power is only slightly lower due to bigger maps. A player overusing Allied War Machine can relatively easily be beaten. In teamgames AWM is much, much more powerful while being cheaper. Though the munitions cost is the same, you get much more munitions in teamgames. A Tiger is easy to counter. 8 are not.

Additionally, in teamgames tier 1 sees much less usage, due to the simple fact most of the resources poured into it are wasted if one player on the opposite team fast techs to T4, which is a viable tactic in a teamgame. In a 1v1, if you do not fight enough in T1, you lose ground, thus losing resources thus slowing down your teching thus losing you the game. By the time you have the power to reclaim your territory, your enemy has the power to defend it and due to the higher amount of resources he has, in time he'll be able to make an assault force which will easily overpower your defense force.


With that said, teamgames can be fun if played with friends. I dislike playing teamgames without anyone I know, because it means I can't be sure if the other player won't sit in his base doing nothing for the entire game.

I also vastly prefer a small number of medium and high resource points than a large number of low resource points. When I take a +16 from the enemy, I feel like I accomplished something major. I do not feel this way when I capture one of multiple +5s.

1v1s got boring, i like to play with friends/teammates as its always nice to have some reinforcements or be able to launch multiple attacks and control them well.

3v3 on 8 player maps is what I like. (with friends that is)

I see it as this:
1v1's are fun to play and require a strategy and tactics.
A 2v2 requires strategy, not so much tactics because overwhelming force normally wins battles.
A 3v3 has none, it's like 3 1v1's but just insanely hectic.
A 4v4 needs a strategy to win.

Overall I prefer 1v1's then 2v2's 4v4's and then a 3v3. Generally around 8:00pm EST is when you can find some good team games along with good 4v4's. I don't like Montargis Region but Route N13 is my favorite map, visually appealing and fun to play in. On Route N13 you generally have all of the tiers used, and even when T4 hits the battle isn't over.
