I thought it would be nice for the community to discuss battle strategies amongst ourselves. Favorite Procedures, effective unit combinations etc.

Depends, urban maps its always good to get MG's into buildings fast around CP's but on more open riflemen are useful as mgs can be easily flanked also if us try and rush to a half-track with the quad as this when supported with inf can be very effective.

Allies:
I initially create lots of engineers, get my self resources using them, get them to build things and set up forward bases, then use riflemen to attack.
The best allied tactic i have seen so far is to hold the Axis troops back at their base, allowing them very few resource points and they can not produce very good/very many tanks. Now roll your shermans in to the base :D

Something which I am increasingly doing is, when in a good stable position and with extra resources, I create a QRF (Quick Reaction Force) compried of a couple of half-tracks with Infantry and Engineers in, with a couple of armoured fighting vehicles.
I keep them back behind the lines, generally trying to keep them as secret as possible. If a sector or some of my defences take a hit, send in the QRF and hopefully plug the gap. Once they're finished and have re-inforcements, I retreat them back again.

kinda sucks though when u find the gap has been caused by some tigers....

yeah that QRF is almost a good idea. The only problem is (with myself anyways) that you can get too wound up in the entire battlefield that you always end up needing those vehicles out there fighting anyways. You've got to be ontop of things in this game. Use every little resource and equipment available. You could have just as well divided that QRF group into two groups to defend two different capture points. Thus eliminating the need for a QRF in the first place.
I always try to capture all the resource points up to a certain bottleneck. Then just hold that. Maybe build a small row of anti-tank walls and barbed wire to funnel the enemy into an even more of a bottle neck. That way they can't flank me and their numbers are useless.
I'm still learning the game. It's a difficult game. Unlike C&C, this is more than just speed. It requires knowledge and useability of a wide variety of infantry and vehicles. With a combination of using certain maps and their given resources efficiently. C&C is all about speed. Whoever can produce the most tanks wins.

I agree with both the above comments, Tigers are obviously not gonna be stopped by a few M8's and Greyhounds...
I also go instantly for flags early in the game that are easily defendable through natural means, e.g. a wall already surounding most the flag, or a hill above the flag. This means I can just wire up the choke point, as Sledge said, with some AT traps.
It's all about adapting.

That's why I don't play that one anymore. But in COH, you use your brain for a change ... tactics , flanking , adaptability to the terrain , etc etc etc. THIS GAME ROCKS!! :D ;)

Mate if you like using your brain then you should really try Medieval 2. Now THATS strategy!
I agree with 'fps.sledge'. In this game you really never have time to save up your units or resources (unless youre playing a map divided by water), you always have to have your units out on the field and you have to really stay on top of every single part of the map your fighting in. They have REALLY CAPTURED the atmosphere of ww2. Your always running low on troops and your reinforcements always arrive in the last second but still they just barely manage to retake the flag and are way to weak to resist a second attack.

Good point but if they launch a huge attack at one point and you need em its good, but if they attack two frontals your screwed.

Exactly, really it's only any use if you're in a really comfortable position.
Anyway, I kinda need some help. I seem to have played myself into rather a bad habit. On any map, what I do is look to take approx. half the map, or where I see easily defendable points. I then build a wire perimeter, re-enforced with tanks traps and MG nests, just kinda sitting back, not gaining anything, not losing anything either. I am finding this REALLY boring now, but I just can't get myself out of the habit.
Any tips?

Blowing the bridges is not always a good option as thats what your opponent will expect, often its good to set up a foot hold on their side right at the start, this really makes them panic.

Seems like a waste of manpower and population cap. But it sounds interesting I may look into it. I will post all of my strats for maps here (I'm new to TotalCOH)
For Angoville as Allies I always go for the West side since it is open and harder for Axis to lock down. Have 1st engineers build barracks and have the building engineers rally on the fuel point. Then I set up waypoints for my engineers building the barracks so as soon as they're done building they go cap the strat point to get income from the fuel. Send out Riflemen every 270mp and cap the entire left side. Then I'll do a slow creep from the south and west to cap the east. Decap their fuel and begin to go for a motor pool or tank depot. Get out a croc to eat up inf, and then get sherman and it's then Pershing time fun. You'll win on Victory Points and if you have to win buy base destruction then you should keep killing things so you can get a calliope to wreck havoc, but my games never last long enough to get enough cp to get a calliope :(
