yea interesting film (too see how over seriously some people take these "games"), but it kind of bugs me that they call it "american gamer" when most of the gamers in the trailer (and indeed most of the best gamers in the world) are european...

but hey, what the heck looked interesting, might torrent it some time?

This looks to be great film. I'm glad to see that Hollywood & the media is taking our SPORT very serioulsy. I dont play BF2 to have fun I play to win I take my gaming VERY serioulsy. There are some of us that take this beyond the hobby realm. :shoot:

^^^ "Sport", don't kid yourself.

"cyberathletes" BWAHAHAHA since when did living in your parents basement and being morbidly obese qualify someone to be an athlete?

was there any other game showcased other than CS(CS:S)?

It seems to be a real low budget flick which is fine as I'd be interested just to see a documentary on CPL's main game, CS. I agree that the name is rather misleading though. I belive CS is the only showcased game as other games just don't attract the same amount of sponsors, professional teams (i.e. have the capital to fly a full team half way around the world) and attention. I'll check definitely check it out though.

PS: Please don't turn this into some CS rant/flame thread.

lol yea cos we all know where that would lead..bf2 is a noobs game at heart, cs takes some real skill to play..

CS is much more "the better player wins" instead of BF2's "the cheapest, lamest exploiter who waited 3 rounds to get the best vehicle then grenade launched while simultaneously proning and bunny hopping wins"..

hate the music in the trailer, shows unoriginality. i like dchozn's work better, or complexity clan's. that includes the video work as well

Now thats a bit harsh - i dont support the guy calling you an idiot, but war isnt just about 1v1 with aK's. The vehicles and planes is part of the fun. I also dont like the bunnyhopping and dolphin diving, but i still enjoy the game. Why do you spend time reading in the bf2 forums if you hate the game so much? By the way
, I dont think those CS players are so much better then all the bf2 players anyway.

care to back that statement up? oh you can't? you say you like to bunny hop? and dolphin dive? and whore cheap guns? and refuse to play unless you have a distinct advantage? and only use the best vehicles?

exploiting is one very small step from hacking. bf2 is an exploiters dream. very few real gamers play it from what i see. LOTS of noobs who think they are "leet" play it, they're not real gamers, they wouldn't last 3 seconds against us old school players. just whining trolly kiddies who like to hide behind a tank like they hide behind their keyboards. take their tank away, and proning, cheap gun, etc and make them fight you one on one with only an ak with no nade launcher, no med packs, no vehicles, nothing just you and them one on one, they **** their pants and run home crying..

I kind of understand what you're trying to say, and could maybe respect it if said differently, but the way you have phrased the above is downright rude. I've played CS on competitive CAL levels and yes, it's a whole different world, does it make BF2 an exploit or a "noob" game? Not at all, it is just a game with more interaction density and a different kind of fun to it, which many many people so happen to enjoy! If you can't RESPECT this then I hope you will be removed from the forums accordingly. Cheers.
