Get Battlelauncher 1.1, Sorry I cant get the link for it but if you run a search you'll find it.
Basically you can capture your camera movements in a demo much like FRAPS would however it doesnt save out a video rather just the camera moves. This means you get a decent framerate. Then later you render the movie out at constant smooth 30fps in any codec resolution and in widescreen etc. Its a definate must have upgrade for people who for some reason are still using FRAPS. The program is safe because it works on functions BF2 already has but are extremely difficult to use without a decent interface which Battlelauncher provides.

People have their own way of going about doing videos.
I personally think fraps is much easier to do, since i can just film, restart, film restart.. go to next demo.. repeat.. instead of restarting bf2 EVERY TIME you get a new demo or new camera angle for a scene..
i seem to adapted a complex way of filmmaking, mine are not like everyone else

um... is 1.1 the version you get with bf2? like original?
cos ive used the original before and its a pain in the a$$... it takes ages to do a lil bit... first you gotta start it up and do the camera movements... then you gotta watch the camera movements... then you gotta render it which is like 2 fps or w/ever... then you gotta get the sound.... then if you split the clips up you gotta split the sound up....
arrrrgh...!
is there an easier way or am i doing it n00bishly?

http://battlefield2.filefront.com/file/BF2_Ambush_At_Mashtuur_City;45870\ for high quality..
http://picapic.net/media/TJ5SCQP84Q8GV4 for low quality .wmv stream
(Best bet is to watch it in fullscreen either way to get the most out of it)
It would have taken AGES to do as i dont just run through the demo and get the shots i need once.. i get them MORE THAN 3 times... and if you figure that out, thats alot of restarting bf2 starting it back up.. getting a different camera angle, recording that, exiting.. recording a different camera angle.. accidently messing up, quitting bf2 to retry, etc....
To me it was so much simpler to do since i tend to revise some of my shots, which i can do in less than 5 min.. rather than 10ish min of fumbling through the whole battlelauncher recording process...
EDIT: oh and i forgot to say, the only time i would use the rendering in battlelauncher is to get rid of nametags i cannot get rid of any other way.. (tracking shots)

I made a Movie with it, its the Infiltration movie available on Total BF2s servers somewhere.
Fraps may be easier but you can get Framerate jumps (especially if you use high gfx settings) and have no REAL control over the resolution (widescreen etc.) or compression.
