View Full Version : Cant play bf , whats the deal here?

ok first of all i have to say that this is pure ********!!!!!!
I can run half life 2 without even one crash or problem , I can run fear on med settings without prob , I can run dod source without problem
I can run a lot of other new games without any damn problem
But with this game its so stupid
Ok first of all this is my pc
3.4 ghz Celeron d
ati radeon 9250 128 bit
512 mb of ram
dvd drive 16x (I think)
1024 x 760 or something like that
lastest patche (1.03 i think)


Ok heres the bs , when i enter the game the game runs
I see the videos and **** but when it comes to the place thats says single player or multiplayer like 5 seconds later the game turns black and all i can see is the mouse icon in the game
THen I do Alt tab and it says an error occure with my video card (send or not send)
and it runs perfecly with the other games
Damn ea games U get on my dam nnerves

This is the forum for reported bugs, not client support

BF2 will push your machine to limits that HL2 could only dream of. You can't compare.

BTW, this is the first post in hundreds where someone got a CTD *and* where a prob was found with the gfx card. Try looking in the client forum and search for the word 'refresh'

My bet is with your drivers, check you are using the latest from ati, or try the omega drivers. (google is your friend)

Have you got vpu recover enabled in the control panel? what are your open gl and d3d settings? Has this happened since the 1.03 update? you may need to follow some patching clean up tips listed elseware in the forum..

Failing that, uninstall, reboot, delete all BF2 and EA games folders related to BF2, and reinstall with just the 1.03 patch...

The 9250 is getting to the lower end of gfx cards to run BF2, its a hell of a demanding game..

RAM: 1 Gb
Video Card with at least 256 Mb of RAM

Anything less is asking for trouble.

scarface change your card from 8x to 4x and it should work. I have a 9200 and it works for me, even though I still get 20 fps.

ROFOERFLORLF OFLROLF OLF OLZORSZORS HL2 has 210134-014 times better graphics than bf2, especially day of defeat source.

Omega drivers work like a champ, dont *****. Be nice on these forums and you will see people will rip out there processor and give it to you if it will fix your problem.

Half your problem is you have a DRIVER conflicting with PUNK BUSTER. Until you find it, video, sound , sata whatever, the game won't run right. Can you even play single player??? My driver problem was the iomega zip drive driver. Deleted it, all is fine. The other problem is YOUR COMPUTER. Half you hardware does not meet the games minimum specs. Your 9250 video card, celeron processor, 512 of ram.
Update your drivers, delete the old, then update your computer. Not necessarily in that order.
