I've got a dell laptop inspiron 8600 and i can't use the voip in bf2, and i don't understand why. Msn, Teamspeak, skype, ... works.
:wall:
My audio card is "SIGMATEL STAC 9750 AC97" and i wonder if someone else got problemes to use his microphone under bf2. If not witch driver&version i have to use, and how changes have to be done to bf2.
perhaps the probleme comes from the laptop's included microphone because EA says :

Question
Why doesn't a secondary microphone port work with VOIP?

Answer
Make sure that the microphone is plugged into your primary sound card's Mic 1 port.
Battlefield 2 does not recognize secondary microphone ports. Secondary microphone ports include non-primary ports
on your sound card as well as sound ports in the front of your computer and Live! Drive ports.

In brief... HELP ME...

Go to Control Panel

Go to Sound and Audio Devices

Click on the Voice tab

Select your sound card's mic input under Voice Recording in the drop down list

Click Test Hardware

It should work in game.

Otherwise, try loading the VOIP setup app provided by BF2:
BF2VoiceSetup.exe

I use a USB mic (which is NOT plugged into my sound card obviously) and it works fine for me.
