Just was wondering about windows 64? is it any good?
Will games run on it or is there still problems with that sorta thing??
Sorry for all the questions.

But thanks in advance for any help.

I wouldn't recommend Windows 64 just yet unless you like having to hunt down drivers that may or may not exist.

Stick with Windows XP for gaming.

Benchmarks that I have seen have shown no real advantage to running Windows 64 for games.

Yeh, my mate bought it and has no end of problems finding drivers. Stick to 32bit till they sort all this crap out. For example, Norton systemworks doesnt even support AMD64's yet, let alone XP64!! (found out the hard way)

He does run XP64 and BF2 fine though, just gotta hunt for drivers...

I have it and I have all the drivers I need. They're pretty easy to find if you know what forums to look on (IMHO).

Asus mobo
Nforce 6800

AFAIK, Canon are the only company that don't produce drivers.

i'm an old programmer. and i have some simple advice. bf2 was no written for windows 64. your opening up a can of worms. i too have an amd64 and a copy of windows 64, but i'm not even trying to get bf2 on it... i'm not nuts. i just want to have fun, not problems and frustration. plus with windows 64 you will need a lot more memory, everything that is 64 bit eats up twice the space of 32 bit. also all the drivers are still beta ware and most likely the 32 shell which bf2 will run under is slower than running on windows 32!

Hey, yea i thought it wouldn't be too stable. Just cos the systems have been upgraded we were looking to see if there was anything we could upgrade with the OS. To be honest tho i quite like XP. During the reinstall of everything we had 98 running!! I can't believe i used that ****. Its so depressing to look at LOL!!
