Hey guys, heres some pics from a BF2 recorder battle with my, 64mb Radeon Mobility X300, 512mb RAM, and a 1.6Ghz proccy. A lot of people say that I shouldn't be able to play graphics like this on this vid card, what do you think?

Yea but what fps you running it at?

PhiliusX6
10-21-2005, 11:29 PM
I run about 25-35 (I'm not really sure how to read the fps meater but I'm pretty dang sure that's what it is) and that's after it loads completly (it lags for 2 mins on each part on the map.) I'm happy with that fps though!:D (even though I don't know what it's like to have a higher fps)

i wouldnt even bother tuning that PC on, it would cause me alot of stess trying to attempt to play with that

Haha, thanks for the complament:D Well I think it's just that your a nerd spoiled with a good computer:p (I'm only joking, don't get mad:cool: )

I dont understand why people wouldnt want to play on a lower spec laptop (i assume- its a mobility..right?)... i mean i would be happy in playing it never the less.. all it does is make the textures blured.. its not like you cant distinguish what is what..

My rule is, if you can play as good as you usually can on FPS, then it dosnt matter

Krypp596
10-22-2005, 12:32 AM
its not the worst thing i have seen..

mrbucket

Not that i think your a liar, but its pretty funny if it's true. You are like below what the game even requires, and in my opinion it looks pretty good.

10-22-2005, 01:05 AM
Its BATTLECORDER. You can set your settings on extra high all that will change is the rendering time. Its like playing a video, you don't need a strong card for that.

In multiplayer games he probably plays on extra low lol.

Krypp596
10-22-2005, 01:06 AM

PhiliusX6
10-22-2005, 01:44 AM
Um.... Ok guys you say your not calling me a lier but you don't believe it......that's pretty much the same thing as me lying right? WELL I'M NOT!!!!!!! For one thing I resized it, so it looks smoother, I did NOT put the settings on high, the settings I play on are - Everything low except lighting, Geomatry, and effects (I have on medium) dynamic lighting and shadows I have on low, 2xAA and texture filling off (I think) And I have A FREAKIN INPIRON 6000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT DO YOU EXPECT!!!!??? *cough* Sorry bout that, I just hate it when people don't believe the truth. Yeah my dad bought me the laptop (without telling me:D ) for Christmas and walla! that's what I got, I'm getting 2 gigs soon though!:) But here this! I AM NOT LYING!!!! So believe it people and the only reason it looks that good to you is cause they are croped and resized (didn't do anything else like blur or smooth it out etc.) so people, Believe it or not, and if you don't believe, that's the lie! (wow I just said something very clever:D )

P.S. when I found out it was below the min. req.ments I was like "oh dang" But it plays.:)

this is Bs ... This is my card ATI X300se 128MB .. everything on low to get 50-70 fps.. Here is the screenshot.
http://img487.imageshack.us/img487/4776/screen0101ms.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
i dont believe him! This SS is on my old card.. Now i got my new comp.. Look at my sig... That guy with the 64mb Card is Bs.

PhiliusX6
10-22-2005, 10:21 PM
Heres one, Big2firz you already commented this one (I got it from another thread.

http://img231.imageshack.us/img231/4369/screen0019ae.png 650) {this.width=650;this.alt='Click Image to Enlarge';document.getElementById('http://img231.imageshack.us/img231/4369/screen0019ae.png');document.getElementById('http://img231.imageshack.us/img231/4369/screen0019ae.png').innerHTML=document.getElementBy Id('http://img231.imageshack.us/img231/4369/screen0019ae.png').innerHTML+'

It's very strange because my friend has a X300 128mb and he can play stuff on medium with not very much lag:|: So I'm just as confused as y'all (but Big2firz you got much better fps than me.) But to the delight of all people I'm officially going to end this thread cause everyone thinks I'm lying and they don't want to listen soooooo, Nobody Post On This Thread, Case Closed.

[HQN]Shadow
10-22-2005, 10:31 PM
Can you please tell us what all your settings are on? (I mean specifically, not just "some medium and others low". tell us what each setting is on)

PhiliusX6
10-23-2005, 12:01 AM
OK I'm not sure what all the settings are called but I know wich ones I have on medium wich are,

Geomatry = medium

lighting = medium

effects = medium

dynamic lighting & Shodows = Low

AA = 2x

texture filling = low

Is that enough info?

As stated earlier those are not his in game shots. You have to be a complete idiot to believe it. He said it himself, those images are from BF Recorder. Once you've recorded your games on super low, you can replay them with everything maxed out, and there's not performance drop as you're simply watching a movie.

Now do technology a favor and buy a new video card . . .

to prove this, just post a SS with renderer.drawfps 1 and everyone can see ur fps. (and dont look striaght into the sky when u take a pic.)

Haha well You Obviously didn't read what I said, The settings are not all maxed out, there on the same settings as I said in the post above, i just resized them on Photoshop and saved as a PNG. the only reason it looks so smooth is because since I resized it, shadows do not look as crappy and stuff.

P.S. I will take a screen with my fps bar:)

That's how I did my Speed and Altitude video. I have a 9800 pro, and recorded the stunts on my regular (lowish) settings, then turned everything on HIGH and 6x AA when I rendered the video with Battlelauncher.

Sorry, but that is false. Playing the bf recorder demo, is just like being in the game. It is not like watching a movie. So if you have a crap video card, dont go in bf recorder expecting good FPS, because it wont happen. However, it works well for taking high quality screenshots.

Hello,

Like many of you, i didn't believe that BF2 would play with a 64mb Video card. But it actually does play on some cards from Ati Radeon !! I personally have it running on my laptop that has 64mb [dedicated] on Ati Radeon 9600 . I have set all the graphics to the lowest and the game plays great [smooth] online. I must admit that the game was unplayable with 256Ram but when i added a 512mb ram stick it works great!!
A friend of mine has an dell inspiron 9300 with Ati X300 64mb and it plays great on his as well [ i think he has 1gb ram] with the settings turned on low. If you want the best graphics on a laptop, you would probably want to get the Radeon x600 [256mb] or the x700 [128mb version] or the latest geforce card. But then you run into $$ [ my laptop cost less than $700 [refurbished].

Gateway m505 Laptop
Pentium M [1.5ghz]
Ati Radeon 9600 [64 mb]
Ram: 768mb
