View Full Version : [WIP] Samarra Desert

Well, I have begun work on a big El Alamein-type map. Its final name, i think, will be Samarra Desert. I have the basic idea down, and have actually started getting some ideas of how it will look in-game (I do this in the editor). I have tried to make some realistic mountains using the modify tool, but they never come out very good. Im going to try and use Terragen or WoldMachine to get a heightmap, but I have no idea where to start...

If someone could possible give me a link to somewhere that has a tutorial on how to make custom heightmaps, and import them to the editor (Also, if possible, colormaps <---I think thats what they are called). Any help will greatly be appreciated. Later tonight I will post some screenshots, possibly in-game, of what my map will "feel" like...

Expect it to be released sometime in November...
