A remake of the 1942 classic map El_Alamein for BF2, <O:p></O:p>
So named with_BFDS cause thats my clans tag, so u know who,s version it is.

Construction<O:p></O:p>
I tried to keep the terrain as close to the original as possible, but had to use my own textures ( hope you like orange) to give it that red sun baked look to it, and spent quite a while trying to get a SunSet look to the map , (love the way it gives long shadows across the landscape), getting the right lighting and sky & shade colors for the SunSet look, was very annoying and I give up in the end, but I think it will still give you an impression of a sun set time frame. I was happy enough with the way the textures came out, but a big disappointment was the way the roads turned out, the map editor will only work with default road textures from BF2 , so I could not make my own, and they don’t really fit in color wise , and look **** from the air, but they where the best ones I could get.<O:p></O:p>
Game Play<O:p></O:p>
All flags can be captured, which takes away any bickering in servers about base camping, but no team can be camped out because I put in a parra spawn over each main base, which can not be changed, you spawn with you shoot closed so be ready to pull the cord.<O:p></O:p>
The 2 main bases are worth 50 points each and takes (1 man) 30 sec to disable it, and 45 sec to raise it = 75 sec total ( its longer to raise it, to give the enemy time to respond) .<O:p></O:p>
The other 3 North / South / East are worth 25 points ant take 15sec to disable and 30sec to raise=45sec total. Both sides have 10 artillery to give the power they lack, the same air craft, but I think the US might have 1 tank & light tank more (cant remember).<O:p></O:p>

Play Test Details<O:p></O:p>
I made a download for the map 88MB (yes it’s a BIG map )and 1 for servers 4MB
(as the server don’t need the client.zip file makes a big diff).<O:p></O:p>
I have it running on my own server at 213.84.223.204:16567 , the system its running on is a bit dogy at the min it, sometimes reboots its self ,so if u cant find the server that’s why.<O:p></O:p>
Install.<O:p></O:p>
Unzip to C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Levels

It has been playtesed by 8 players and no 1 found any bugs ,(which supprised me :D )
