Not that hard "Google" is a great resource ;)
We reported on PCI-Express chipsets in numerous articles in the past two months, by reading those you would almost start to think that AGP was indeed dead and buried. Well, rest assured, AGP is still here, it isn’t exactly alive and kicking, but some manufacturers haven’t abandoned the platform just yet and are releasing new products so you have somewhat of an upgrade path. NVIDIA is the first manufacturer to, not surprisingly, port a native PCI-Express graphic card to AGP. The graphic card in question is the GeForce 6600GT, which is a mid-range card that sits below the 6800 series and offers great performance at an affordable price. When NVIDIA launched the 6600GT one of our first questions actually was whether there’ll be a native AGP part, as it would offer a worthwhile upgrade path to users with an AGP motherboard.
High Speed Interconnect
http://media.hardwareanalysis.com/articles/small/11330.jpg
The GeForce 6600GT AGP with the HSI clearly visible at the bottom.
NVIDIA didn’t end up making a native AGP part, but rather stuck a HSI, high speed interconnect, in between the native PCI-Express graphic processor and the AGP-slot, which takes care of the bi-directional AGP-to-PCI-Express translation. This of course is a simple, yet effective, solution as it doesn’t require a redesign of the 6600’s core to support AGP. You might ask yourself whether this will result in increased latencies, but keep in mind that the bandwidth that PCI-Express has to offer is twice that of AGP, so any latencies will be less than some of the bridge solutions we’ve seen from AGP to PCI-Express. So essentially the GeForce 6600GT AGP is a PCI-Express graphic card in disguise. Read on as we explore what is is up against and whether it is able to best other AGP graphic cards which carry a $200 pricetag.

Um, those pics aeren't really that good...
A 6600GT with a decent CPU and 1.5GB of RAM can max out BF2.
My system;
Athlon 64 3200+ Venice @ 2.7GHz.
4 x 512MB Corsair ValueSelect DDR400.
eVGA GeForce 6600GT @ 550/1180.
I max out BF2 @ 40fps.
offtopic, nice you your 3200+ at 2.7, im at 2.52

Haha, thanks. I love it, its at stock cooling, 47*C Load, 32*C Idle. Using Arctic Silver 5 helped a million. I think I just got lucky though, not many people are doing anything past 2.6GHz these days...

So if I have an Athlon 3200 and 2 GB of Ram and a 6600 GT will I be able 2 run BF2 all on high?

Yeah, at 800x600.
I find people with $2000-$3000 systems find it hard to believe that the rest of us can out-do them :D
An Athlon 64 3200+ @ 2.5GHz will out-do your processor in games MatDef. And Dual 7800GTs are a total waste.

Sargeant Marshall, if I can do it, then you can do it. I have all my stuff overclocked though, especially my processor. So if you know overclocking, you will be able to max out BF2 at 1024x1280.
---
Razor; I don't know about 2.7, thats pretty high, but you should be able to overclock a 2.1Ghz AthlonXP to atleast 2.5Ghz, given you do everything right and don't screw up.

IMO dont listen to him, Get better cooling options such as an aftermarket heatsink, becuase bartons seem to get pretty hot so aftermarket cooling good then overclock, Barton cores seems to drop out around 2.2ghz so after that you should start prime95ing the cpu to find best stable clock.

At Stock with a 6600GT you should be able to max out at that reso the only thing stoping Marshall is that if he doesnt have enough RAM to go highend on textures so please do not say you will be able to max everything out at that resolution if he only has 1gb or less of avialable ram.

Eh. I dunno bout AthlonXPs, they're outta my area of expertise, but a .1GHz overclock would be pretty pathetic. You can get ATLEAST 2.3GHz with stock cooling.

What're you talking about dude? When he was asking if it would run, he included 2GB of RAM.

here we go, specs in the Sig. all High. i got a Athlon XP 2400+, no probs playing. but i noticed that loading the maps Will go only over the CPU Performance, my CPU is on 95-99% during the loading. My upgrad to 2GB ram only make the ingamebrowser faster, even "quit the game".
