I had created a map with a large dock area, i bought the ground up to meet the dock walls over a large area and now the map is not playable.
Is there a limit as to the hieght most or your terrain can be or is it just the tool.

platform, smooth, random tools are very instable. I suggest that you don't use them if you don't have to.

what would be your suggestion to create a suitable flat area to build upon
Maybe if i can raise the default height of the map i can just sink the water side, is that possable?

I havent had much success using the platform tool - not that it crashed but sometimes it worked right and sometimes it didnt. What I suggest is use the modify tool and get it to the height you want and then use the level tool - its easy once you get the preferred height - personally I stay away from the platform tool. Let me know

YEAH!!!
Ive done a bit of a mix between the level and i sunk my dock walls into the terrain and ate the "sea-end" away with the modify tool.
****NOTE TO DEVELOPERS OF THE MAYA EDITOR****
What a shame soooooo much time wasted by the appropriate tool being under developed. Be nice to know if your fixing it any time soon
