Activating Mod

How do you activate a mod becuase when I hit activate then it restarts then it is normal bf2?

Personally, I never use that since the restarting is a waste of time. What mod are you trying to run? Most come with their own batch file or shortcut I think. If yours doesn't then just copy the regular "Battlefield 2" shortcut and add +modPath mods/mymod to the command line (if your mod is in a folder named 'mymod' under 'mods').
