I still almost can't believe how dark some of those maps are! I wish that we could use new stuff such as the grappling hook and zip line in the old maps.

For me the zip lines and grappling hooks are going to add a new teamwork element with my clan. Go to the BF2:SF website and it will tell you what classes get the zipline/ grappling hook and such. I find it interesting that there are gas masks provided.

yep vehicles are a lot more focused on since 1942 and BFV.

I miss dog fight in BF42 and custom thing like big cannons on the real wake island...

You just explained this video. It's all pre-planned and acted out, just like the BF2 videos were. There's no way that gameplay will make it in online play unless you get 2 VERY organized clans in a clan match. Otherwise, it's going to be the same thing as BF2. I’ve read that they tweaked on the engine so areas that are dark can’t be viewed unless you have nvg no matter how much you crank up the brightness of your monitor, not that it will stop people who run some sort of video driver/directx hack though.

If it works in the expansion. I know if it works, everyone probably will, but I tried it on the video and still couldn't see a darn thing except for the occasional light and muzzle flashes.

And if places are tweaked to not allow you to up the gamma, that supports the idea of light hacks even more. I wouldn't doubt there's a way to tweak the lighting so it's not rendering any light at all in an area, therefore pitch black, so yeah, gamma wouldn't help there. Enjoy fumbling in the dark. ;)

Look at the lead in to BF2. Is that how an actual battle in BF2 would look? There is alot of shooting and little dieing as a result. No bunny hopping or dolphin diving. But this gives you a look at some of the game capabilities and toys. New toys are good. :D

For the time being, ranked servers will run either BF2 or Special Forces maps. No mixed map/mod support will not be available in this release. Possibly part of a future release/patch.

World interaction for the players has been enhanced in many ways. One of these is that switches will allow players to open and close gates, raise/lower elevators and so on. There are indoor areas such as hallways in buildings, but it remains a primarily outdoor game experience.

as i expected the dynamic lighting and effects in this expansion are going to kik a$$.

Vid Looks awesome.. But as it has been said before i'm sure gameplay will be very different.. A definite purchase for me. It would be nice if it was different to BF2 with gameplay being a little slower giving rise to more tactical and team based combat. Planing an attack on a CP rather than everyone just running about with a PKM or jumping a chopper/tank etc... It will be interesting to see how it pans out.

At best, Its a 30 dollar mod. Wait 3 months, by then at least 4 mods with as much content will be out for free, with better gameplay.

Realistically, It'll have MORE (not as many, MORE) bugs than BF2 from everything I've heard, as well as horrible gameplay, inspired by the cs players that will be switching over, those who think they are super soldiers with their night vision, crossbow thingy, gas nades, etc. Except everyone will have them...

Can you imagine that movie if the mec guys had the same stuff as the US (as they do in the game) ?

It would have been a retarted bunch of people constantly throwing flash and gas nades everywhere, dying randomly without cause... things that make normal players angry and aggravated...

I was watching the video and at the end after the guy has fallen into the 2 you see this thing move accross the screen really fast.
I think that it's a mouse cursor.

IF IT IS A CURSOR, IT PROBABLY MEANS THAT IT WAS THE INTRO TO THE GAME, NOT IN GAME FOOTAGE

you must be playing on some pretty crappy servers then, Ive have very similair experinces to the intro everytime I play devils perch, its great, very stealty, and i get tons of kills on that map aswell cause people dont use the nightvision and dont see me coming up to them :evil:
