Oh! Lmao! Look mate I think this is your problem: I've played 119 hours of CoH according to X-Fire. But I've only played 2 games on ranked servers because I didnt realise you have to press the "play now" button to go to ranked servers. What I'm trying to say is that I think loads of people have played loads and are really good but they havent been playing using the "play now" button. Its only Bodybag who does that! :P

My tactic. Play as American, Airborne Company. Hold atleast two VCPs, with MGs, Snipers, and loads of AT guns. Its good to play as airborne because you can get at guns fast, and drop infantry to help too.

smurfing is a cancer that is rampant. a few that dont know the options in multiplayer cannot be the cause of all the deception that occurs.a good way to insure against smurfing would be to have 1 account per cd-key as aoe3 has, untill something like that is implemented we must all suffer intentional missmatches at the hands of these predators....also there will be NO stats wipe when O.F. is released, mark my words. afterwards maybee, but not initially.

Ok first off, are you talking about Unranked or Ranked? Ranked is if you click on "Play Now" and everything else is unranked. I recommend not doing 1v1 games unranked unless you know the person. Ranked matches do have an "anti-smurf preventer thingy" for example if I'm level 10 and make a new account, I and I go to a ranked game I will be paired up with a lvl 10. However if there is no one near my range I will go 1 lower and 1 higher. So you could just be on the short stick and no one that is near your lvl is playing ranked, so you get paired with a higher level regardless of smurfing or not. Smurfing is no big deal imo. Find friends and play with them and play that way. Playing with a group of "buds" is more fun then getting into a random game.

ranked on paper may work, however there have been many horror stories also. but lets leave that be as it may for now. unranked is a smurfers dream come true, if someone just wants to have a fun game and tries to play hes pretty much screwed. i play with my friends and when i see someone come in with not too many games under his belt, i instantly boot this player, because it is almost certainly a pro trying to put one over on us. this is the ONLY defense we have. it is unfortunate for the real newer players, that get caught up in that, but every war has its casualties.

Again the majority are not trying to get cheap wins, but manage to stay in a game for more then 3 seconds. I'm level 7 and I have issues joining games where they say I'm too good, and kick me. I'm sort of playing devil's advocate here and saying it from n alternative point of view. No one likes getting smurfed, but to be honest it effects a low level of the people. For the most part it is the lvl6-lvl20 (15+being rare) who are making smurf accounts. Once you have lvl 5 experience (rank or just have enough wins equivalent to lvl 5) you should be ok and stand a chance. Now if games are 10 minute blow outs then yeah I understand, but if it is a hard battle that you eventually lose to better tactics, and micro then that is just a better player, and practice will make games better.

i find the problem is widespread and its just turning off the new blood. this cannot be good for the longevity of the game, yea maybee, because its a great game it will survive but at what cost?...its just cutting its own throat by letting this horrible tactic continue. if noone could smurf then we would all have a great guage on the opposition, to make an informed decision. missmatches would basically be your own fault however, the smurfs are just ruining it for most everyone, as it stands now.

Add your name to the Xfire thread, join the clan (just so we can contact you, we don't do clan battles) and then you can get some friendly games against us. We do 3v3's and 2v2's 1v1's aren't as popular against me for some reason... ;)

i versed people over 200 ping and the lag was bad that there was usually a delay after you give orders. i try to stay under 200 ping

We're not trying to divert the topic. But there is nothing that can be done, so I say we just live with it. Ranked games have an anti-smurf device. It works like this: I'm a level 5 and I chose to play a ranked game; the automatch searches for a lvl 5 for lets say ~45seconds. It can't finde one ok looks for a lvl4 and a lvl6 for xx amount of time. Then it continues. Now for the smurfing part: I have one profile at lvl7 Allies; I make a new one and I'm at lvl 1 on that profile. When I go to play a ranked game the automatch searches for an opponent according to my highest profile thus a lvl 7 first and then after the amount of time searching I either get a game, or the automatcher looks for a person 1 higher and 1 lower. Now since your original profile can't be deleted that rank is permanant. However obviously if that is a low rank, you can make other profiles and then delete them once you get good. My solution is that you can not delete a profile, just change your name, but your stats are kept. Maybe I should pitch that to Relic.

After looking on other forums, it has come to my attention that dupsky, goes around and makes numerous threads about this topic, from relicforums, to GR.org, to planetcoh. The fact however is that smurfing in ranked games is no longer and issue, and unranked smurfing can be solved by just checking their stats, and kicking them if you think they are too good. Remeber tho, that a person can have 200wins and be level 1 if they don't play any ranked games, thus they aren't a smurf.

Now he can either get wtfpwnd or he can go out and spend 30-50 dollars to get another COH game. If I was him, I'd go watch TV. Perhaps you should let this topic die, and just go play the game and get better so smurfing is not a problem. BTW if you're joining an unranked game, if you look at the left side of the game lobby screen (where it will show an allied and an axis rank that shows the combined levels OR if it is just one person it will show their highest rank. lets get some perspective guys, i as you love to play this game. as such, i am trying to raise awareness to a problem that is evident. i am not your enemy, I'm trying to make the game a better place for all of us. i tend to feel that any opposition to making the game better is in effect an assault to the community, which i like to play in, so if i come across as insulting sometimes its from frustration.......it comes down to this: do you want a better gaming environment or not?..if not, i do have an issue with that.
