While in the middle of a game, the game just locks and freezes. The music continues to play but everything else just stops. I have to CTRL ALT Delete to get it to stop. Any body know what is going on?

Be sure that you have the newest graphics, mainboard, sound drivers. Check directx. If this is all ok, clean your files with ccleaner, defrag your whole system(download the o&o defrag trial). After that download Spybot and Ad-Aware and let them check your system. Don't forget your anti-virus. :)

A very strong possibility is that you have graphics settings too high, you use up all memory, everything freezes, and then everything gets fubar and screeming starts...

Well, I tried to degrag and run SB and everything. It still froze. I then turned my graphics down all the way with everything at low, and to my suprise it runs fine, no freezing. But as soon as I change the setting to automatic it freezes. Later I tried to lower the automatic settings even more. The settings that were on ultra, I lowered them to high. It still froze. It seems like it freezes on any setting besides low. But even the automatic settings say that I am only using half of my memory. I also installed the Microsoft kb940105 hotfix. I thought that this would fix the problem but it has not. I give up.

Sorry to hear that, what background tasks do you have running?

Some times X-fire, but I usually close that and I have AVG Anti-Virus. I've closed AVG before and it still froze on me so I doubt it is any of those.
